Renna Rose Lancaster is the girl people stare at like she belongs in a glass case, a life airbrushed into unattainable perfection.
But Renna knows her life is nothing but a golden prison coated in pretty lies that keep her muted and small.
Her day...
"You are the knife I turn inside myself; that is love."

The second I crossed the threshold, the house hit me like it always did after nights like last night: stale booze, cold air, curtains half-drawn like they were ashamed to let sunlight witness the state of this place. The whole living room smelled like it had been marinated in cheap whiskey for a decade. Same old welcome.
My phone was still buzzing from Mairi's frantic call. "Yer da's at it again, lad. Yer ma's shaken. Come quick." The kind of voice she used only when things truly went to hell.
I hadn't even taken off my trainers before I saw the real circus.
The telly.
Seventy-five inches of pure humiliation blasting into the room like God himself wanted to smite me with 4K clarity. My face filled the screen.
My actual face.
Jaw clenched, fist cocked, ramming that creep's skull into the glass tower like I was auditioning for some gangster flick.
The clip looped, again and again, full brightness, volume high enough to shake the damn floorboards.
And the comments. Bloody hell.
The reel had gone viral overnight. Tens of thousands of views. Likes climbing like someone stuck a rocket up its arse. And of course, because the internet is allergic to sanity, they'd turned it into some weird cinematic montage. Moody filter. Thirst edits. Dramatic orchestra music. At least five captions calling me "mafia boyfriend."
Fantastic. Could someone set me on fire?
A few comments flashed across the screen:

"The only man with a functioning brain in that building. This party was a walking harassment case. Petition to make him head of student conduct committee."
@rosalieee23:
"He knocked the rascal into another century. My Roman Empire."
@slaymedschool:
"If she was my girl, I'd do worse. She looked terrified."
@wheresthebeef:
"Imagine breaking 2k worth of glassware for a girl and still walking out like a boss."
