"And then she knew
That you could become homesick
For people too!"As I stood by the entrance, the evening air crisp and fragrant with the scents of blooms, I watched my friends approach from the gate.
Isla was the first to step onto the front lawn, her eyes widening in pure astonishment.
The garden sparkled with fairy lights, their soft glow illuminating the intricate patterns of streamers and lanterns that draped from every tree and bush.
She reached out tentatively, her fingers brushing against the trinkets that adorned the foliage. "Wow," she breathed, her voice full of wonder,
"this is like I've never seen a house decorated so much for a birthday! It looks so fancy that anyone who saw it from the outside might think someone's getting married here!"Freya followed, her eyes sparkling as she looked around. "Renna, this is absolutely breathtaking! I'm almost afraid to touch anything, in case it's all too perfect."
As George surveyed the garden's grandeur, his grin widened. "So, Renna, is this what you meant by keeping things simple and low-key?"
I couldn't help but smile at him.I laughed softly, "Well, I did say I liked simple, but my parents always have a way of going all out. It's a bit overwhelming but really sweet of them."
Cameron, added with a smirk, "Looks like Mr. Lancaster's idea of 'simple' is setting up for the biggest party of the year. I bet he's got a secret stash of confetti and balloons hidden somewhere."
George chuckled. "Yeah, and I bet he's got a personal team ready to make sure everything is perfect. I wouldn't be surprised if they started planning this a year ago."
Freya, taking in the decorations with admiration, asked, "Have you always had celebrations like this, even back in your hometown?"
I nodded, my cheeks flushing slightly. "Yes, pretty much. They love making the day memorable. It's their way of showing love."
Isla, looking around in awe, added, "Well, they've definitely made this year's birthday one to remember. This place is practically glowing. I mean, it's so stunning.I feels like a dream!"
Cameron, chimed in with a grin. "You know, George, I now understand why Mr. Lancaster is such a big deal. He's apparently ready to pull out all the stops just to make his little girl's day special. I bet he'd even rent a parade if she asked for it!"
George laughed heartily. "That's the truth! If I had parents like yours, I'd be expecting fireworks and a marching band every year."
Everyone burst into laughter, and the atmosphere lightened even more.
As we all walked into the house, Cameron's attention was drawn to the new car parked in the driveway.
His eyes bulged with exaggerated amazement. "Whoa! Whoa! What do we have here?" he exclaimed, his voice filled with playful disbelief.
