"Lovely evening, Sir!" Alastor greeted briskly.
"...Yeah," Lucifer answered reluctantly. One afternoon, as Lucifer was fixing a rubber duck in their room, Alastor entered, a tray of freshly brewed tea in hand. The demon's movements were measured. His eyes lingered on Lucifer for a moment, the intensity barely concealed behind his composed facade.
"Do you want some tea-?" Alastor said with his trademark, big wide smile.
Lucifer answered, not looking up at him "No thanks."But Alastor just poured his tea into Lucifer's cup. "My pleasure, sir!"
Lucifer looked at him at this time, because he was dumbfounded.
"It is my honor to serve you, Your Highness." With a slight bow, he turned and exited the office, leaving Lucifer alone with his thoughts.
As the days passed, Alastor's behavior towards Lucifer underwent a subtle change. The radio demon was no longer openly confrontational somehow. But not the normal way too.
Alastor seemed to respect the king. He actively attempted to help whatever Lucifer did. As Lucifer observed him, his eyes were full of politeness.
But when Lucifer didn't look at him, the demon's gaze would occasionally linger on Lucifer. With an unfathomable intensity.
Lucifer felt slightly worried about Alastor's deference. The king of Hell would often cast sidelong glances at the Alastor, his brow furrowed in contemplation.
As Lucifer sipped the tea, he couldn't help but ponder the nature of Alastor's newfound deference. Was this a genuine effort to change, or was there something more sinister lurking beneath the surface?
Somehow, Lucifer would have a responsibility. Drinking a fallen angel's blood could be too much for a demon.

A Sunday morning, Lucifer hummed happily, flipping a fresh pancake onto a plate. The sweet scent wafted through the hotel dining hall. He was happy that he could treat his daughter to Sunday breakfast.
"It smells so good, Dad!" Charlie said. Lucifer sweetly smiled at her.
The crews were waiting for pancakes. Alastor was seated nearby, watching her every move with a seemingly relaxed attention.
Taking a bite, Alastor moaned with exaggerated delight, dabbing his mouth. "Ha-ha! These are simply divine. You've outdone yourself, sir!"
"Oh, I know. Hold the applause."Lucifer beamed with pride. Husk interjected under his breath, looking at Alastor "So, when will you stop faking-"
Before Lucifer could react, Alastor subtly nudged Husk's shin under the table with his foot, still wearing a serene smile as Lucifer looked over. "Ah-ah-ah, did you say something, Husker dear?"
Husk glared but was forced to lie through gritted teeth. "No... everything's awesome."
Alastor made a show of cutting another wedge with a fork and knife. "You must give me the recipe. I simply must learn your secrets!"When Lucifer turned to grab the syrup, Alastor's pleasant mask slipped for a split second as he shot Husk a warning look, his smile a tad forced as he dug the tines of the fork into the pancake with unnecessary force.
"Maybe some warm maple syrup to bring out the flavor?" Lucifer offered, holding up the pitcher with a bright innocence.Alastor's gaze snapped back to Lucifer, his smile widening authentically. "Fantastic, sir! Don't mind if I do." He held out his plate expectantly.
As Lucifer poured the thick syrup over the stack, Alastor gave Husk a fleeting, playful wink, making Husk grimace in silence behind the king's back.
The other staff members noticed this shift with a mix of relief and unease. "It's like he's holding back, but there's something off about it," Husk muttered.
Angel Dust nodded in agreement, "Yeah, the way he looks at the short king is just... creepy. He does so always, though."
Charlie, ever the optimist, beamed brightly. "Oh, guy! Let's try to look good on Alastor! I'm so glad he is making an effort to get along with my dad! This is a wonderful sign of his progress."
That was how Charlie looked at people. She was as optimistic as Lucifer was. Lucifer started to think that Alastor would be... not awful as he had thought.
