Powers Out - Gobby Fan Story

It was a bright and sunny Saturday morning. Gobby was asleep in his bed. He hears his alarm go off and he tiredly jolts awake. He looks at his clock, which reads, 9:00. It was 9 O'clock on a Saturday. (Not sorry for the pun / joke there lol!) He gets up and walks towards his window. Looking outside, it was raining. 

"Ugh... So I guess it's gonna be a liquid sunshine kinda day then?" Says a tired, slightly annoyed Gobby to himself. (Yes, liquid sunshine is a thing. Look it up!) Gobby heads to the kitchen to make himself some coffee. As he heads to the kitchen, he feels something fuzzy near his feet, causing him to trip. "Of course... Why WOULDN'T I trip over the cat?" Says Gobby, getting himself up off the ground. "Well... At least I can start my day with a nice cup of Eefoc!" Says Gobby trying to get into a more cheerful mood. (And you see, it's funny! Coffee spelled backwards is Eefoc, and it's funny!) 

He puts on some coffee and decides to check his phone. He opens Discord and notices he has a new notification from his good pal SqueakyWafflez. "Hey, are we still down for goin' live tonight? Cuz I have a real cool game I found that we should check out maybe!" The message reads. Gobby responds with a simple, "Heck yeah man! Sounds cool!" And goes to make himself some coffee. As he takes a sip from his mug, he hears a loud rumble. He rushes to a nearby window and looks outside. It was no longer sunny, and to add to the rain, it was also now thundering.

 "Great... JUST what I needed this weekend..!" Gobby says sarcastically. Another rumble could be heard, followed by the sounds of a startled cat rushing across a wooden floor and crashing into a table. Gobby gets himself a bowl of cereal and heads to his room to boot up his computer. He plugs in his headphones, opens YouTube, and watches some videos as he eats his breakfast. Afterwards, he opens Discord on his computer and chats with Squeaky. "So, what's this amazing game you've found for us to play?" Asks Gobby. "Ok, woah! I never said it was amazing... I just said I found us a cool game to maybe check out!" Replies Squeaky. "Well, don't keep me in suspense! Lay it on me brother!" Says Gobby. "Ok, well... It's only a one player game, so I'd have to just chill and watch you play again, but I saw it on the Nintendo E-Shop and it seemed pretty cool! It's a pixel style game for the Switch called, "Dot Dog" and it seemed pretty cool to me!" Squeaky sends a picture of the game, and Gobby decides to check it out. 

He grabs his Switch, (Sorry if he doesn't have one btw, I don't make it to his streams very often and when I do, I don't usually chat or nothin', as said in the authors note!) and looks for the game called Dot Dog. "What the? Why is it only three dollars? What "Pretty cool" game is only three dollars?" Askes a confused Gobby as he looks more into the game. "Well... I'll check it out anyways. It can be one of the games we play on stream tonight!" Says Gobby. He heads back to Discord to chat some more with Squeaky. A loud rumble could be heard, followed by a bright flash of lightning. Before he can open Discord, his computer shuts off. 

"Awh, what?! Come ON dude!" Says Gobby as he tries to boot up his computer again. "Did that SERIOUSLY crash my PC?" Askes an annoyed Gobby. He goes to grab his phone and proceeds to message Squeaky on the Discord app. "Bruh! It is thundering HELLA crazy right now, and this bruh really made my PC crash!" Gobby messages Squeaky. "Yikes dude! Are you going to be ok?" Askes Squeaky. "Well... My computer sure won't be, that's for sure!" Replies Gobby. "I just hope I can get it back up and running before the stream tonight!" Gobby sighs, and looks up at his computer. He tries to turn it on again, but nothing happens. "Oh come ON!" Gobby shouts, slightly slamming his fists onto his desk. 

He looks out his window and sees the thunderstorm still going strong. "Maybe I'll take a nap or somethin'... I'm feeling a bit eepy still..." Gobby flops into his bed and begins to doze off. Just as he was about to fall asleep, Thunder roars, causing him to jump awake. "Geez... If I even CAN take a nap, with all THIS going on!" Says a slightly annoyed Gobby. "Maybe I need a drink!" Gobby goes to his kitchen and grabs a water bottle. He chugs the whole bottle down in a matter of seconds. "That's better... After all... Can't have a dehydrated little shriveled goblin, coughin up dust n' what not!" He says, feeling slightly relieved. He heads back to his room to take a nap. Before he can lay down, he get's interrupted by the sound of a Discord call.
