Strange

Stepping into my aunts house I could sense that she was no longer inside and most likely sleeping. I shut the door silently and slumped against it dropping my bag. Her kitty Bella, whom she rescued after fleeing from home, crawled up to me doing loops around my feet and nuzzled against my leg purring. Crouching down to her, I gave her a small smile and scratched her favorite spot behind the left ear, scooping her tiny body up into my arms then made my way into my room shutting the door behind me.

"Alright Bells, I need to try this silly uniform on." I spoke to her like she was a human and could understand me. I took her silence as her saying "Okay"and walked into the closet trying it on. Finally taking in my appearance I frown to see it was just a black skirt and stained white blouse that was far too tight. "Bells...I look a middle aged office succubus." I huff out, earning a meow in response making me smile like we were communicating.

Stepping carefully out of my clothes I hung them up on the closet door and plopped down on the bed causing her kitty to fly off it and land onto a fallen pillow. She hissed and scurried away to my closet.

"I'm sorry honey pie, i'm just so exhausted. And I wish your mommy was up right now." I quickly apologize, earning just a meow. I look up at the ceiling again and like magic the door sprung open with Aunt Laiya on the other side dressed up with her purse in hand.

"Laiya what are you doing?" I chuckled walking over to her, leaning in to give her a kiss on the cheek. Pulling away she had on this weird smile but I saw it as her way of trying her hardest to give a toothy smile.

"I'm gonna be out again Julia, can you make sure Bella is fed please? Oh and don't open the door for anybody." She said that last sentence with concern in her voice making my eyebrows furrow in confusion. At the tone and her leaving for the third night in a row.

"You're leaving again? What are you batman?" I cackled but she didn't laugh at this, which made me frown. She never really understood my jokes or just wasn't in the mood to laugh, "Lighten up please? Anyways I can run the errand for you Laiya, it's getting late and it's very suspicious of you to leave again." I pleaded with her but that only made her panic and back away into the hall.

"No honey, you're not familiar with that place and weirdos lurk around." She blurted out almost too quickly, but with sincerity in her voice.

I rolled my eyes and scoffed, "Laiya, it's late. You need rest." I said with a warning tone and after a few seconds she handed me the keys and a paper that had a small list of things, I assume to be her medications.

"If you screw this up," she hissed at the pain looking down at the spinning ground and looked back at me, spinning as well, "nevermind i'm sorry, just please. If they don't have it don't stay too long." She stood there like a sad dog after getting yelled at.

"You can count on me okay? Go sleep your eyes are starting to droop again." I protested reaching in to embrace her. We stayed like this. I didn't want her to think I was controlling, I just care about her so much. I stiffened feeling her trembling body against mine. Sometimes when she's up for so long and doesn't sleep she starts to jitter.

Placing a kiss atop of her head she pulled away and walked into her room. I took that as my queue to head downstairs. I placed some food and water in Bella's bowl and scratched it off her mini calendar Laiya bought. Putting my shoes back on I grab my bag and close the door behind me. The sun had already set by the time I stepped outside and everything was dark.

Reading the location on the paper it was only a 5 minute walk. I shrugged and skipped the car ride making my way to the shop. I felt something in my gut telling me not to continue, but then again I didn't have my dinner. I brushed this off turned on my phone.
