"I still remember the day that changed my life forever. To understand why, I need to go back to the very beginning. I was born into a family of four, with a loving father who suddenly turned into a tyrant one day. Life was beautiful because I never lacked anything whatsoever. My mom was the sweetest, and my dad was literally the best. He would go to work, and we would wait all night, just because we knew that anyone who slept would miss out on the goodies. We felt the love; he would take us out, buy clothes, shoes, and lots more. What could a child at 10 want?
After a year or two, I would say his true colors began to show. He would beat the living daylights out of my mom, and there were series of heated arguments leading to a huge assault on both my mom and her children.
Then the responsibilities fell on her shoulders. My mom had a restaurant that was booming, and everyone around the neighborhood knew her. After the early hours of struggle preparing meals for the day's sale, my dad would go out of his way to show us what a wicked person could do. He would pour all of the hard work and effort of my mother away by tossing everything she cooked into the dirty drains.
Life was tough. We lost the only source of livelihood we had and went back to point zero. At this time, I was 14, turning 15. My immediate elder sister and I were to travel to stay with my father's sister. 'The journey began'..."
