A/n: heyy, it's way too long that I had not wrote anything but I'm sort of  back into writing. My interests had drastically changed for the past few years.  I will be writing on a new book which is this. I hope you will guys enjoy this book and my new interest, Case closed/Detective Conan.

It's morning but Mirai was still sulking in bed, letting the sunlight passed its way in. It's in the middle of the summer month, July to be precise. Her birthday is around the corner but she may had forgotten it just like the previous years. The lush green trees swaying side by side, signaling y/n to freshen herself up to get ready for the day.

"It's already 9am huh.." she mumbled while checking the 4 numbers with a colon in the middle, tiny envelopes popped up one by one to show how many messages she has to read. Not before long, she decided to set her phone aside and get ready before she gets engrossed to her tiny bluescreen for hours.

Time skip

While looking into her closet, the longer she looked and searched for clothes to wear, the heavier her heart felt. She does not want to go out. Badly. She could feel little pebbles piling up slowly but gradually until it reaches to the top of her heart.

𝘙𝘪𝘪𝘪𝘯𝘨-

"Hello?" her soft voice was heard by the other side where a slight chuckle bounced back to her as a reply.

"You don't seem like you want to go out right?" The boy replied. It was Kaito Kuroba. Her friend that she met at a second-hand bookshop.

"I want to sulk so badly." Her reply ended abruptly but he knew that he had to pull her out before it's too late.

"You do know it's unhealthy right? I'll come soon enough, get changed alright?" His usual cheery voice was no help to her but he knew he had to do something. Something..

Not before long he ended the call while she looked in her closet to find something to wear, until she found a simple pink dress in her closet. If she recalled correctly, it was a gift from her friend. She said that pink suited her but she just laughed and said nothing much of it. She slipped it on, surprisingly it still fits, as if it was a new glove to be worn. She had never gained nor lose weight which was concerning but she never thought much. A silhouette can be seen from the mirror, a girl whose emotions that never came back to her. Such a poor girl. A small box of earrings stood as she took it and wore it, as it dangles like a pendulum for a couple of seconds.

Diiing dooong

After dressing up, the motivation to do everything left in one fell swoop. She felt nothing, it's empty. Not before long, her friend barged in to see Mirai on the bed in a dress that he never once saw. Something is fishy, too fishy, to the fact that he could feel it before he passed the threshold of her apartment.

"Hey, are you alright? I know it's sudden but you need to get some fresh air...Alright?" His voice was faint in her ears as if she was drowning in the deepest trench of the ocean. He held her hands and pulled her out of the gloomy room to be met with the wind hitting her face so as the greeneries.

"Wish I never existed.." she mumbled but he heard it. Her health will deteriorate if this goes any further.

"Are you stupid? You are existing right here and now" his voice rose slightly to her. He's getting agitated, but calmed his nerves little by little as he helped her slipped into her boots.

As she did her best to compose herself, keeping her eye lids open to not be seen as a walking corpse in the streets which made Kaito's heart chipped slightly on its edges. A yellow bulb appeared in his mind, as he took her hand and brought her to a nearby cafe for a quick brunch before hitting to the museum.

"Where are we going? I told you I'm just going to sulk-"

"No! I will bring you to somewhere enchanting, way better than being in that crampy apartment!" he interjected her sentence and grinned as they arrived at the cafe.

Callings of order numbers echoed to and fro as customers took their trays to their own respective seats to dig in while workers worked in a haste. A painting that shows utmost chaos in a calm environment until the light showered on them as if they were the sight that the artist wanted to portray. The Lovebirds.  A painting that shows the love birds passing through a chaotic scene in the cafe to symbolise the challenges they were about to face in the future and present. (this painting does not exist unfortunately lol)

"Well, it's simple right? Order, pay, pick up and eat. Just these four steps. I will be with you" His gentle words touched her heart a little but she concealed it as he let her step into the cafe. The bustling sound reached to her sensitive ears but Kaito held her hand as they walked passed through sea of customers.

"What would you like to have today, Ma'am?" The cashier asked with her usual practiced smile. Mirai knew that she practiced till she's tired of it but she felt a tinge of happiness from her. She seemed like she really loved her job.

"I'll get a mixed berry pancake paired with a cup of hot tea, please." Mirai's voice was delicate but her order got through while Kaito stood behind her waiting for her to finish ordering.

"Alright that will be 510 yen, please." (if you're interested on how much is it, you may check it online since it would be different for every readers) She thought that she did not brought her purse along but surprisingly she did. Perhaps, Kaito helped her grabbed it before she could noticed. She pulled out a 1000 yen note to the cashier as she accepted it and gave her change and a receipt of her order and number.

"It's not that hard right?" Kaito said with a slight gleamed on his face. As Mirai walked pass by him to find a spot.

"Hey! At least talk alright?" Kaito was slightly agitated but it was for comedic preferences to make her smile which he managed to. But he could only see a glimpse of it, before he realised people started to glare at him. It was his turn to order and immediately turned his head to the front and ordered.
