Time ticks by in a haste, leaving those who were left behind. The night was still young for the others but late for some. Some days were joyful, but some were left with sorrow. It was time itself. Kaito and Mirai were walking together hand in hand as the moonlight illuminated the street while keeping the two under the spotlight. His hand slipped into his jacket pocket to take out the letter that he wrote back at the theme park.
"Here.. Erm.. It's just something short, nothing much, actually.." Kaito muttered as he scratched his head with a flustered face while Mirai just opened the letter carefully as she silently read the letter.
"Summer ended so as the year,
It's coming to an end, just like a story.
A wonderful story,
Those memories that I wished to rewind,
But it will never happen.
Autumn is a symbol for love I heard,
Would that wish be ever granted?
I hope it would,
And I bet it would."
"You're joking for those last two lines right, Kaito?" Mirai asked as she neatly folded back the letter back into the envelope while he just shrugged and laughed off. "I will be excited to see how many girls would be snatching over this envelope, just because it was signed by you." A tiny cursive Kaito Kuroba signature was written on the right side of the envelope.
"Ehhh? You would not even treasure something like that?" Kaito whined as the girl beside him let out a sigh until he grabbed her hand firmly and led her into a narrow alley, leaving Ran and Conan behind. They looked just like a runway couple from those romantic movies.
"Kaito! Ran and Conan would not know where we a-" Her sentence was cut when she realised that she was being cornered by him. Her eyes were shut tightly while his face kept moving every inch closer until it could touch her lips. His hands were pinning against the wall, trapping the poor girl as he let out a soft chuckle.
"You really look that cute, just like a dove.." His sentence ended as he gave her some space to realise what had happened. Her eyes slowly opened again to see him standing in front of her while his head was turned towards the left, looking out for Ran and Conan.
"Let's go then -" Mirai said as she moved but was stopped by Kaito as he grabbed her slender hand firmly and shushed her using his index finger, which made her cheeks redden. He soon started walking, which made her follow until the end of the alley.
Streetlight beaming its radiance down the cars as they passed buildings like it was a video tape playing in the background. Hands intertwining together, never leaving its side as the stars soon rotated alongside the others, leaving constellations for people to admire at. Kaito and Mirai silently walked along the street until their eyes laid to a child and a college student where they seemed to be talking something private until the student rushed off, leaving the poor child behind.
"Kaito, get that guy!" Conan shouted while Ran and him were running towards them as Kaito nodded to tell that he received his message and chased after him, leaving Ran and Mirai alone. "He should not have left the car engine on while a child is left there!" Kaito nodded as he looked back to check Mirai and Ran to see that they both were switching the engine off and taking the keys as they comforted the little girl.
"You really should hold more responsibility. A child like her could not watch over a car like that!" Kaito lectured the student as his head was lowered to the fact he was staring at the ground shamelessly, while Conan's hands were in his pocket as he observed his body language.
