Amjad and Aryan on a call
"Abbu, why do we have to listen to that old brat every time? I killed Balraj's baby, and perhaps his wife must be dead by now. What if he comes chasing me?"
Aryan spoke in a shivering voice, driving back to the Khans haveli.
"Because he has funds, and we will eventually put all the blame on him only so co-operate for some time, and focus on your goal more than women."
Amjad spoke from that side.
"Yes, Abbu."
Aryan cut the call, and drove as soon as he could to his home.
Author's POV (In the Hospital)
"Please! We cannot say anything right now. She is critical. We need some time. Please thakurain!"
Doctor explained to Aradhya and Jairaj before going into the ICU. Aradhya crouched on the ground, palming her face as she cried terribly.
"Ma, she will be fine. Don't worry. Mahadev will save her."
Jai assured his mother, while he was also sobbing miserably. Arjun was still carrying the little lifeless daughter of Mandakini and Balraj in his arms, very close to his chest.
Silent tears were flowing down his eyes gazing at her. He didn't want to leave her. For a second, he wished to be a daughter's father too, but the condition of this little girl was traumatizing him.
(In the Khan's Haveli)
Amjad was in Lucknow regarding a political rally, but his adamant family members were all set to celebrate the birthday of the youngest Khans.
Atif and Asif are the twins born to the second wife of Amjad Ali Khan, who is Shaziya begum. Amjad has two wives - Nafisa begum and Shaziya begum. Aryan, Armaan and Inayat were born to Nafisa, while Atif and Asif were born to Shaziya.
It was the twins' twelfth birthday, and the haveli was embellished so magnificently that nobody could take their eyes off of it.
This was the idea of an eighteen-years-old Inayat, who kept roaming here and there to look after the leftover arrangements.
"Ab bas Aryan Bhai jaan ke ane ka intezar hai phir celebration shuru kar denge."
"Now I'm waiting only for Aryan Bhai jaan, and we may begin the celebrations as he arrives."
Inayat cheered, her grin was enough to lighten up everyone's mood. Though Nafisa could sense something wrong since the morning, still Inayat's effort of making her smile worked amazingly.
In the absence of Amjad and Aryan, Armaan was handling the responsibilities very carefully.
Everyone was being jovial, when their attention shifted to the main entrance from where Aryan was entering, but his condition wasn't speaking anything good. He seemed to be running from someone.
"Inayat tum andar jao."
"Inayat, you go inside."
Armaan instructed her, since she wasn't covering her head at that moment, and Armaan had already sensed something godawful coming behind him.
"Abbu yaha nahi hai Bhai jaan. Hume rukne do na."
"Abbu is not present here Bhai jaan. Please let me stay."
Inayat implored Armaan, and nodded.
"Just in case some outsider arrives, cover your head instantly. I don't want any bastard to see my sister."
