Jack arrives home, his body heavy with exhaustion and worry. The day has been nothing short of a disaster, and he knows he has to break the news to Samantha, his girlfriend. He takes a deep breath and knocks on the door to their apartment.
Samantha opens the door, her face lighting up when she sees him. "Jack! You're home early. How was work today?"
Jack forces a smile. "Well, it was...interesting."
Jack steps into the apartment, letting the door close behind him. He takes off his shoes and moves to sit on the couch, his body sinking into the cushions.
Samantha takes a seat next to him, concern now around her face. "Jack, what's wrong? What happened at work today?"
Jack takes a moment to gather his thoughts before speaking. "Well, Samantha, it's not good news.... I..I..I got fired today."
Samantha's eyes widen in shock. "Fired? Why?"
Jack hesitates for a moment before speaking.
"I don't know how to say this," Jack begins, "but my identity was stolen. Someone took out loans in my name and spent thousands of dollars. When the company found out this morning, they fired me."
Samantha's jaw drops. "What? Oh my God, Jack. That's...that's awful."
Jack's heart sinks further as he sees the look of disbelief and dismay on Samantha's face. He feels like he's let her down, and the weight of his failures presses down on him like a heavy blanket.
Samantha swallows hard, trying to process everything.
"Jack, I don't know what to say," Samantha manages to choke out. "I mean, I know you didn't do anything wrong, but...this is a lot to take in."Jack nods, feeling a lump in his throat. "I know. I'm trying to deal with all of this, but I'm...I'm not sure what to do."
Samantha's eyes fill with tears as she takes a step towards Jack. "I'm so sorry, Jack. I just...I don't know if I can handle all of this."
Samantha's words hit Jack like a gut punch, and he feels a wave of anger and hurt wash over him.
"What do you mean, you don't know if you can handle this? I thought you were supposed to be my partner, the person who stood by my side through thick and thin." Jack said
Samantha's eyes flash with frustration. "Jack, I'm trying to be supportive, but.... I've got my own life and dreams to think about. I can't just put them on hold because they messed you up."
Jack: "So you're just going to give up on me? After everything we've been through?"
Samantha: "Jack, it's not about giving up. It's about facing reality."
Jack's heart sinks as he realizes the gravity of Samantha's words. "Reality? So, what, you're just gonna leave me to deal with this all on my own?"
Samantha's eyes flash with defiance. "You're the one in this mess, Jack. And besides maybe they'll also steal my identity"
Jack's voice rises in frustration. "That's just a lie your forming up to dump me... So who's this new boy you have been seeing behind my back?"
"OK you caught me but note he's way more hot and richer than you!" Samantha tries not to tell him the boy sees playing with
"Well suit yourself but remember don't come crawling back. Take your stuff and GET OUT NOW!!" Jack unleashes his anger through the shouting.
Samantha leaves the living room to her room. A few minutes later, she is holding her luggage and handbags. Jack was sitting there, on the couch lost in thoughts. Then looks at his new ex-girlfriend exit the apartment.
