Next day ~
Isabella's POV :
I wandered through the endless hallways, discovering 15 guest rooms, including his – the largest of all. The second and third floors were filled with unnecessary rooms.
Descending to the first floor, I found only two rooms with double doors, giant and magnificent. I grasped the door handle and pushed, but it wouldn't budge.
"What are you doing?" his voice echoed through the hallway.
I flinched and turned around. He stood with his hands in his joggers' pockets, sweat dripping from his hair to his neck, and into his jersey, accentuating his perfect waist and muscles.
"Tell me when you're done," he said, folding his hands against his chest, now leaning on the wall.
His angelic laugh replaced with a smirk as he looked at me and licked his lips.
I gulped, looking away. My cheeks flushed. I swear I'd be lying if I said, i didn't felt butterflies in my stomach.
"I-I wasn't st-staring at y-you," I stuttered. Damn!, why'd you stutter bitch!
"I never said you were staring at me," he chuckled, eyes downcast. He was now smirking down at me.
"What were you trying to do there?" he asked, I looked confused, and he pointed at the door.
"I was exploring, but this door seems locked." I said looking everywhere but him.
"You're not allowed to go there," he said, I could feel his intense gaze fixted on me.
"Why not?" I asked nervously.
"No questions," he replied before turning away.
"Wait! What about that room?" I asked, pointing.
"This room is just a library," he said. My eyes sparkled with excitement.
"Can I go in? I love reading."
"No."
Disappointed, I turned to leave, but his words stopped me.
"Also, on the ground floor, there's my office – the second room you must not enter. Below the stairs lies the basement, the last place you should go," he warned.
"Where am I allowed to go in this house?" I asked folding my arms, now frustrated with his behaviour.
"There's the kitchen, gym, indoor pool, and garden outside. You can go there," he said, his expression blank. He's back to being himself again, entirely different person from yesterday.
"If you have nothing to say, I'm gonna head out for the afternoon. Don't be in trouble, behave yourself!" He poked me on my forehead with his finger, due to which i stumbled back a little.
He left to his room without glancing back once. I shrugged and went to my room.
Soon he left the house, arranging two fucking guards to keep an eye on me.
I sighed, and continued watching the movie, while they watched me. I don't know what the heck I did, that he kept me under watch, and it's uncomfortable as fuck.
"This is soo boring" I yawned, I was feeling a bit drowsy, soon I felt my eyelids heavy. I should take a nap, i thought and slept on the couch.
NO ONE POV :
Christian entered his club, heading to the VVIP section, to see a man sitting between 5-6 young ladies.
"What did you want to discuss, my son? I'm sorry i couldn't be at thd last dinner meeting" his uncle asked, after smooching one of the ladies hand.
"I don't want to marry Vennessa Lawrence," Christian said, straightforwardly, followed by silence.
"What?" Was the only word his uncle could muttered. "Uncle I don't want to marry Vanessa Lawrence" Christian replied making it clearer to him. His Uncle was fuming with anger by now.
Christian's POV :
"Why the sudden change? What's wrong? Is she not beautiful enough? Is she not your type?"
"I love someone else, and I plan to marry her," I finished.
"Love? Is that all that matters? What about our partnership with the Lawrence's?" he stood up shouting, while the ladies quickly left room.
"Marriage was the only condition to take over your power. SO I'm ready to marry, but the woman I love!" I replied.
"What's her name?" He asked, catching me off guard. "What?" "That woman you love…what's her name?" He asked.
"Isabella Lancaster," I said, to see him scrunching his face. "She's from a normal family," I added quickly to which he nodded.
"Okay, you may go now," his uncle said.
I left, deciding to inform Isabella about our marriage plan. I should've told her yesterday. I sighed.
Now I have to make her understand the situation, without her freaking out.
I can't imagine, i lied to uncle. What if he gets to know she's daughter of Robert Lancaster? I can't imagine what he'd do to her in absence of me.
I decided to call and check on her.
"Hello, boss."
"Any suspicious behavior?"
"None so far."
"What has she been doing?"
"Watching TV, then a nap."
"What were you guys doing?"
"Watching her."
I scrunched my eyebrows.
"What?!"
"I-I mean We kept watch on her."
"Why must they watch her sleep?" Christian muttered.
"Where is she now? Still sleeping?"
"No, she's in the library. Told us to wait outside."
"Damn it, she won't ever listen to me."
I quickly disconnected the call, leaving for the mansion.
