The sun was just breaking over the horizon when Melody woke up the next morning.

This could be the last morning she would get to spend, using Bankotsu's chest as a pillow.

His fingernails brushed gently along her arm, making her feel at ease.

"Things are pretty quiet," he says softly. "I think everyone's still sleeping."

"It was late when we went to bed," she concurs. "They all looked pretty tired."

"Hmm," he mutters, clearing his throat. "You want to get up?"

"Not right away," she replies. "I want to enjoy this a little longer."

Bankotsu sighs, "You're worried this could be our last morning together."

"Aren't you?" Melody lifts her head to look at him.

"Of course I am," he assures her. "The last time I was in close proximity to Naraku, I almost killed you. I don't want that to happen again."

He brushes her messy brown hair back over her ear, caressing her cheek and cupping her chin, bringing her face close to his.

The warmth of his kiss calms her nerves and stirs her pleasurably.

Melody slips her hand down his stomach, under the sheet and grabs hold of his penis, stroking him.

Bankotsu grunts softly and she mounts him, lowering herself down and riding slowly, so not to make too much noise.

She loses herself in their activity, not hearing the sounds of footsteps in her house.

"You think they're awake yet?" Kagome asks in a quiet tone. "It's still early."

"I'll check," Miroku says.

Melody sits up and tilts her head back, biting her lower lip at the wonderful sensation.

Bankotsu's hands are on her breasts as the door slides open and they both stare at the monk in the doorway.

Miroku's frozen in shock, blinks and then slams the door shut.

"Are they awake?" Sango's voice prompts.

"Uh-huh," is all Miroku can muster.

"Good," Inuyasha says. "Get out of bed you two!"

Melody and Bankotsu exchange a glance and she can't help but chuckle.

"Oh good you're back!" Shippo greets them. He looks back at Melody, Jakotsu, and Bankotsu, "And there are more of you."

"We need the extra muscle to take on Naraku," Inuyasha points out.

"True enough," Shippo agrees. "Well then, let's get going."

Things start off in awkward silence as they walk over the Japanese countryside.

"Inuyasha," Sango keeps glancing over her shoulder at Bankotsu and Jakotsu. "Are you sure we can trust them?"

"You haven't spent much time with Melody," Inuyasha replies. "She doesn't trust easily. If she says they can be trusted, then I trust her judgment."

"I agree," Kagome adds. "Besides, I've never heard her laugh this much."

Miroku is still quiet, stuck on what he'd witnessed earlier. He stops and looks back at the three of them.

"What's wrong Miroku?" Sango prompts. "You've been oddly quiet since we left the house."

Melody's laughing at something Jakotsu said, turns to find the monk staring at her and stops.
