"𝐈 𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐌𝐀𝐃𝐄 𝐔𝐒 𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄" aubrielle climbed up the bleachers, trying her best not to drop the cup of mint chocolate chip ice cream in her right hand. "don't blame me, blame the bitch in front of us who threw a fit because they ran out of strawberry!" dawn sat in between both aubri and mel, shoving a spoonful of cookie dough ice cream in her mouth. the girls looked beside them, where a fourth person should have been that afternoon.

brianna yamada. the fourth girl in the friendgroup. atleast she was. a few weeks ago she went missing. the police called it a "runaway" but they knew that was bullshit. bri had no reasons to run away. and if she did, she would've definitely told them about it. aubri knew. she knew there was something wrong. it's not like she could have just vanished into thin air. what hurt the three of them most was that today is the day bri was looking forward to. bruce's baseball game. they went for her. none of them have spoken of her the whole day, trying to keep themselves together.

"i wish bri was here." mel spoke, looking down and mixing her ice cream together to avoid eye contact. that was the first time any of them had spoken of her. dawn and aubrielle both looked at her and then at bruce on the field. "so do we, mel." dawn pulled mel into a hug and placed her hand on her shoulder, rubbing it softly, attempting to comfort her. "so does he." aubri spoke, her eyes glued to bruce, who was about to swing his bat. none of them noticed it, but there were tears streaming down all of their faces. aubri only noticed that she was crying when she felt a tear falling on her leg. she quickly wiped her face and leaned her head on dawn's shoulder, melodie doing the same.

as much as they tried to cry silently, it must've failed because a girl in front of them turned around. "are you guys okay?" they heard her speak. she sounded, and looked, a bit younger than them. they all shook their heads, causing the girl in front of them to frown. "i'm sorry, i know she was your friend.." the younger girl spoke, obviously talking about brianna. i mean, the four girls were inseperable. it was very easy to tell that they were devastated by brianna disappearing. 

"its okay." dawn told the girl. aubri pat the seat next to her, inviting the girl to sit with them. the girl's eyes lit up and she sat right next to her. "my name is gwendoline, gwen for short. i've seen you guys at school before." the girl started. the three girls just smiled and nodded. "im here for my brother, finney." gwen pointed at her brother, who was looking at her with a confused face and was in the middle of the game. when aubri turned her head, she locked eyes with finney for a moment, and she swore she felt butterflies. yeah, she knew it was cheesy and cliche, but she felt exactly like how she did in those movies. in fact, this was better than the movies. 

aubrielle looked back at her friends, who were still talking to gwen. she didn't get it suddenly, she was interested in baseball? if you asked her who was playing half-an-hour ago, she would've just told you bruce yamada. now, she knows his name. finney blake.

the game was already done by then. all four girls got down from the bleachers and walked towards finney, who was still a bit disappointed, hence the fact that he lost. the girls all hugged gwen goodbye, and started walking in the opposite direction. dawn got all the empty cups and started to jog towards the trashcan. they all made sure to stay close. "so.. aubri" mel started. "did you listen to our conversation or were you too busy basically DROOLING over mr finney blake on the field." 

"oh for fucks sake, melodie" aubri shook her head while dawn didn't even try to hide her laugh. "number three on the field number one in your heart." dawn joked, poking aubri right in the chest. aubri's jaw dropped and she stopped in her tracks. aubri just squat on the floor putting her hands on her head while dawn and melodie were laughing their asses off. "i hate you all" aubri got up and continued walking. "yeah, well, i payed for the ice cream sooo" mel spoke while aubri and dawn both hugged her. "look at you, spoiling us" aubri cupped mels face. the trio continued walking and gossiping.
