The Beginning of The End.

3rd person POV :

The birds were singing outside on this beautiful Sunday morning, Brian opened his eyes, thinking this was just a normal day. Oh, how little did he know, it was about to be the worst day of his life.

Brian decided to get up and get dressed to go see his childhood best friend, Leo. Brian rushed out his home, running over to Leo's home. As he reached the home, he would knock repeatedly. What he didn't expect was Leo's father opening the door.

"Ah, Hello Mr.Mason! Is Leo home?" Brian would ask in a gentle voice, trying to not anger the man standing in front of him.

"I told you to leave my son alone. You f*ggot." Leo's father would speak up, hatred filling his eyes.

Just as Leo's father was about to add something, Leo arrived at the door, running out the door, saying a quick bye to his father.

"Sorry about him again.. You really shouldn't listen to him, no matter who you like, I'll always be by your side!" Leo would explain, hugging the slightly shorter male tightly.

Brian would smile, hugging Leo back. He was used to this kind of reaction from his father, or rather anyone from the village. Only Leo and certain people would accept him.

"Well it's your dad, I didn't expect much other than that. Plus I'm used to comments like those! So don't worry about me!" Brian would smile as he finished his sentence. "Shall we go now?" Brian would ask, ending the hug.

"YES!! You don't know how long I waited for today! The festival is gonna be so pretty! I heard they did better than last year!" Leo would say, all excited, just like a child would be.

The two boys would start to walk towards a big crowd, everyone waiting for the festival to begin, red flowers blooming everywhere, making the scenario even prettier than normal.

As the festival began, a limo would start to make its way towards a scene, where the mayor's daughter would be standing, announcing the start of the festival's activities.

The limo would stop beside the stage, bodyguards getting out the limo, opening the back door, Leo's eyes would sparkle, seeing the mayor's beautiful daughter.

"Careful, she can probably see you falling for her in an instant!" Brian would joke around, placing a slight smile on his face, not feeling too happy.

"Stop it.. I'm trying to act normal.." Leo would reply, his face going red.

The girl would walk on stage, she was acting strange, but no one really paid attention to that fact. She would walk to the microphone, until she immediately just dropped to the ground, bodyguards immediately surrounding her.

Brian would be shocked at what he just saw, confused, he tried getting closer, to see if she was okay, he knew how to do cpr in case. Just as he got closer, the girl would wake up, but her whole body didn't seem to be normal.

She would immediately jump onto one of her bodyguards, bitting him until he started bleeding. Everyone would gasp out of shock. Everyone just froze. No one understood what was happening.

The bodyguard would start acting the same way the girl acted when she got on stage. The girl going after the other bodyguards, some bodyguards trying to stop her, only to get themselves bitten by her. As Brian saw that ,he would be too shocked to move, he made eye contact with the girl. The girl would launch herself towards him.

Just as she was about to reach him, Leo would quickly kick her away. Grabbing Brian's hand immediately, dragging him through the crowd.

"I don't know what's wrong with her, but we're not staying here to find out!!" Leo would yell, making Brian snap out if it quickly. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?" Leo would ask, stopping to check Brian for any injuries.

"I-im fine.. " Brian would mumble.
"Yeah your face doesn't say the same thing though, your lucky I was there. I could've lost you idiot." Leo would respond.
"Yeah well I was planning to do first aid.. But than she woke up and.. that happened.." Brian would answer back, clearly still shocked at what just happened and a bit traumatized at how he almost got.. injured?.. by the girl.

Leo would gently put one of his hand on Brian's cheek, trying to comfort him. "You're alright, she wasn't gonna touch you with me around that's for sure."

Brian would blush slightly, immediately shaking off the feeling as loud screams could be heard from where they were seconds ago. More people started acting like they were.. zombies?.. No.. they're not real.. this has to be a joke..

Leo would start dragging Brian with him, running away from the chaos happening right behind them, Brian would notice that the whole time they were stopped, Leo was still holding his hand, he didn't let go of him. Brian would smile to himself thinking about that, then would snap out of it as someone grabbed his ankle, making him and Leo fall to the ground.

Brian would look down and see a person acting like a zombie holding onto his ankle, crawling towards him, he would freeze up again, but of course he had to be saved yet again by Leo, who kicked the zombie right in the face, making it let go of Brian.

"Snap out of it you idiot!!" Leo would yell out, trying to make Brian snap out of it, which worked, Brian would snap out of it, quickly starting to run with Leo again.

Leo and Brian would run until they reached a brick building, running in, locking all the doors, going onto the highest floor, sitting next to each others. At that moment Leo would realize that Brian was crying, probably from the shock.

"You clearly don't listen to enough zombie movies.." Leo would try and joke, making Brian lean on his shoulder, trying to calm him down.
"Why is this just randomly happening right now and to us.." Brian would comment, clearly annoyed at the fact this could've happened to anyone else, but them.

They both would sit there, Leo playing with Brian's hair as the slightly shorter male would finally stop crying, calming down. After a while of just relaxing there, they would here pounding at the door, deciding not to take chances and open the doors, Brian had jumped a bit at the loud noise.

"Calm down scared cat, they probably can't get in here. If they did I would make sure you wouldn't get injured.. understand?" Leo would say, not wanting Brian to worry too much, even if the situation they were in deserved to have them worry about it.

"We should wait a few hours until it's calmed down and see my father. He has guns and that could help us not get hurt by those things, alright?" Leo would say, making Brian make a "seriously" face.
"Did you forget your dad wants me to stay away from you.. because you know, I'm into men and he's scared I might end up liking you.." Brian would explain, Leo not caring at what his dad said.

An hour would go by, Brian accidentally falling asleep, leaving Leo to notice how playing with Brian's hair calmed him down too much. Leo didn't care and just moved Brian closer to him, making him comfortable as he slept, putting Brian on his chest as a pillow, pulling a blanket from besides them, gently dropping it on the both of them.

Leo would start to close his eyes, wanting to fall asleep too, hoping this was all just a nightmare. A nightmare he really wanted to wake up from.
