"The price is that everyone around you slowly dies, including me" she said and paused for a moment, "I didn't want to tell you what it was because I didn't want you to try and destroy it." She said, "Wait, excuse me I have so many questions" "everyone dies including you, no this can't be possible, my own mom?! and you chose to keep this a secret from me ?" I said in a shocked voice "yes I know amor but-" she said "but you said this can be destroyed? , tell me how right now !" I said "yes it can be destroyed, but I'm not letting you do that, you have to pass this down to your daughter and so on, it's family tradition " she said "oh my gosh ! , I am not doing that I don't care !!, I'm destroying it if you like it or not!" I yelled as I ran downstairs to the fire place, I stood there with it in my hands as I could feel the energy off of it pushing away, I threw it in the fire, and nothing happened, it was as if it was alive. "No Alisa!" My mom screamed, her voice mixed with a mix of desperation and fear, but I didn't get it back, I left it there hoping for it to burn, I couldn't, something was holding me back it might have been the anger, or the fear of losing everyone I've ever loved, but it seemed to resist the flames. "Why does this matter so much to you?!" I shouted, struggling to keep my grip, I grabbed it, feeling surprisingly no pain, the ribbon didn't have a single scratch or burn in sight, I could feel the pulse of the curse in my hands as I healed it but this time stronger than before, it was like a dark radiation trying to push me away. "It's not just about tradition Alisa" my mom pleated, tears streaming down her face,"it's about protection, destroying it could unleash something far far worse" I paused, my heart racing "worse?" "Worse than losing everyone I love?" My mom took a step closer, her hands trembling " you don't understand." This curse binds a greater evil" "if you destroy the ribbon it could release into the world" my mind raced, trying to make sence of her words, "than why didn't you tell me ?!" "Why did you keep this secret?, I could've helped we could've found another way!" She shook her head, her face filled with regret, "I thought I was protecting you, but I guess you are right Alisa." "we should've faced this together" she said, I looked down at the ribbon my resolve wavering, "so what do we do now?" My mom took a deep breath "we break the curse without destroying the ribbon."
