🌸A/N- This story has been buzzing around in my mind for the last week, so I decided to write it down. For now, I consider this a short story. I hope you enjoy it!

Sorry, I keep starting new stories. I promise I will finish all of them. 🌸😇🌸

The hotel elevator dings open onto the rooftop. Two of your assistants rush you out, the scorching sun beating down on your sweaty skin. The whir of helicopter blades grows louder, sending a jolt of adrenaline through you. You squint at the incoming black chopper, its form almost invisible against the glaring light. Your phone buzzes incessantly with notifications: 'Three bodyguards will meet you on the roof.' But as you step out, the rooftop is a flurry of activity. Security personnel shout into their radios, the helicopter's rotors create a deafening roar, and your assistants frantically usher you toward the landing pad.

Amidst the chaos, you spot only one figure standing calmly—a man with pink hair, tattoos covering his face, and piercing red eyes that lock onto yours. His hand rests on the butt of a gun, a rifle slung across his back. Your heart races, and the uneasy realization settles in—something has gone terribly wrong.

"Where are the others?" you shout over the noise, trying to keep your voice steady.

His gaze is unwavering, and his expression is harsh. "Change of plans. It's just me." His voice is cold and sharp, slicing through the cacophony with an edge of menace.

You swallow hard, glancing around the chaotic rooftop. "This isn't what was arranged."

"Get in the helicopter," he snaps, stepping closer, his presence imposing despite the surrounding bedlam. 'I don't have time to explain." He opens the helicopter door, gesturing for you to get inside with a rough motion.

Hesitating for a moment, you look into his eyes, searching for any sign of deception. But all you see is a strong determination and a hint of something unreadable. With no other choice, you climb into the helicopter, feeling the weight of his gaze on you. The door slams shut behind you. The helicopter lifts off with a jolt, making your heart skip a beat.

Once the helicopter is up a few thousand feet into the air, you glance over towards the male. He is looking down at his cellphone, typing fast on the screen before sending it off. You have so many questions. You couldn't help but wonder who had betrayed you. Was it someone on your staff? An old political rival? The paranoia gnawed at you, making it hard to trust anyone.

"So... who are you?"

"No one is important," he replies, still gazing down at his phone. His reply only creates more confusion in your mind.

You narrow your eyes at him. "Well, if you're a bodyguard, you should know your primary task is to give me reassurance when I'm distressed. And right now, that's what you should be doing."

He raises his gaze and gives you a hard stare. "Miss. My main objective is to protect and serve as your escort until the enemy is out of your life; nothing else matters."

A hint of red blooms across your face as you try to hold onto your emotions. "If you keep acting like this, then you might not have a job to go back to," you fire at him.

His eyebrows raise, and the corners of his lips turn up slightly. "Is that a threat? If it is," he trails off, leaning forward, "I could deal with you quickly."

"Hmph, asshole," you say confidently as you cross your arms and look out the window, ignoring him completely.

As the helicopter gets higher into the sky, it glides smoothly across the blue ocean, glints of water flashing with the rays of the sun. As you gaze into the blue void, your mind wanders. You thought that being an important politician would be easier. You were fresh into the world of the election race; having grown up relatively poor, you wanted to make a difference in people's lives and end some of the corruption. One thing led to another, and you suddenly had enough backing to become a part of the Senate.
