After hours of lying around, you decided to get up and move. Downstairs, there was no sign of the pink-haired guard.
Stepping onto the back patio, you feel the breeze. A soft sigh escapes as a happy smile tugs at your face.
The backyard is gorgeous, with lush greenery and white stone walls. A beautiful pool area with palm trees and a massive fire pit with cabana sat off to the side. Through a small archway, the beach is visible in the distance, creating a mini tropical oasis.
As the sunlight warmed your skin, you felt a rare moment of peace. Closing your eyes, you let the tension slip away, savoring the brief period of relaxation.
"What do you think you're doing?" Sukuna's voice shattered the tranquility. He stood in the doorway, scowling. "Going outside without protection is idiotic," he said, his eyes flickering with concern despite his harsh tone.
Your expression hardened. Why did he always have to ruin everything? Couldn't he give you a few moments of sun?
Turning your head slightly, you see him leaning against the large door frame, blocking the way in and out of the house.
"Nothing, for fuck's sake," you murmur, huffing angrily. "If you're here for round two, keep your stupid-ass comments to yourself. I just wanted a few moments in the sun; is that too much to ask?"
"Yeah, no," he drawled, a cigarette dangling lazily from his lips. He blew out a cloud of smoke, his eyes glinting with a mixture of amusement and disdain.
You turned your back to him, but his growl echoed. "Damn smart-mouthed woman." He wasn't leaving anytime soon. "Do I need to remind you, I'm here to protect you, not chat in the sun," he boomed.
You shot him a glare, which only made his smirk widen. He leaned back, clearly enjoying the sight of your rising anger, savoring each moment of control he held over you.
"I'd rather not, thank you," you replied quickly. "Now get out of my face and leave me alone." You glance at the yard, annoyed. "Why are you trying to ruin my perfect afternoon?"
You try not to show it, but now his hounding and irritation was really getting on your nerves.
"I'm here to keep you safe, and that means you don't leave the house or yard without me," Sukuna said, his voice hardening. "And right now, you're really pissing me off."
You huffed, crossing your arms, and your chest pushed upwards with the deep breath of frustration.
"Well, I'm in the yard, and now you're supervising," you snapped, crossing your arms over your chest. "So go stand guard somewhere else and be quiet while I get some fresh air. God...damn...asshole," you muttered, the frustration evident in every word.
Hearing your response, his voice rose, almost into a snarl.
"You keep fucking disrespecting me," he says, pushing through gritted teeth. He gets up close, face-to-face, looking downward with a deadly look. His grip on your shoulders tightened, sending a sting through.
"Really... am I now? Hmm." You shift uncomfortably from his grasp and decide to return it to his, although with much less strength.
"The problem is when I give you an inch, you take a whole damn mile," he said, annoyed.
His footsteps crushed the gravel as his hulking form towered over you. Initially, you weren't worried, but his stare now held a desire not seen before.
"And what are you going to do about it, tough guy? Can't handle one girl?" you teased, testing the limits.
A smirk tugged at your face as you waited for his answer, the thrill heightening your excitement.
"Don't play that fucking game, sweetheart. Watch your mouth, or you'll regret it." His eyebrow twitched, trying to regain his temper.
