it's been 2 years since my dad went to jail for putting my baby brother charlie in a coma, the whole family miss him a lot, we just want him to be ok, mom got married to some guy named henry russo, he has 5 sons all older than me, braylon, treyton and even charlie since charlie is only a toddler, mom said we are moving in with them today, i'm glad mom left dad, i am, i really hate my dad, charlie's only 3 years old, he's too young to die.
me, braylon, treyton and mom spend every night crying and praying for charlie to make it through, i can tell that henry makes my mom happy, she hasn't been happy in a really long time, we are all in the car driving to the new house right now, god please let charlie live! right now all i can think about is charlie, he's far too young to have to go through all this.
if i ever see dad again i'll kill him, he should be the one dying not charlie, i get pulled out of my thoughts by my brother braylon shaking me, "dude i've been saying your name like 2 hours, are you ok?" he asks me his voice filled with worry, "yeah, i'm fine, i was just thinking about charlie, i miss him" i reply to him.
"man, so do me, treyton and mom but he's strong, he'll get through this, we just have to keep believing, but we're here, mom wants us to meet our stepdad and step brothers let's go." he says to me, i follow him and treyton and mom into this huge mansion, if charlie was here he'd say how huge this house is, god how i miss his cute little laughs.
we go into the living room where we see 5 boys and a really tall man talking, they stop talking after we enter the room and they all look at me, braylon, treyton and mom, the man also known as henry speaks "hey im henry, you 3 must be lake, braylon and treyton, i've heard a lot about you 3 and your baby brother, im sorry he's in a coma., how old are you all?" he says to us.
i reply to him and i say "i'm 16, braylon is 14, treyton is 13 and charlie would be 3 by now." god just talking about him makes me sad, and i guess my brothers could tell because they are also sad thinking about it also, and so's mom, she hugs all 3 of us. then henry sees our change in mood and hugs all 4 of us then he says "ok enough of that, boys introduce yourselves to your step brothers and stepmom please."
the oldest goes first he says "i'm cole, i'm 20" then the one next to him is next he says "i'm daniel i'm 19" then a boy a bit smaller than him goes next he says "i'm tristan, i'm 18" then next goes a boy who looks exactly like him and he says "i'm leo, i'm also 18, i'm twins with tristan but i'm 5 minutes younger than him." and finally their youngest brother who's a lot smaller than them goes last and he says "i'm joe, i'm 17."
after all the introductions and all that we all get to know each other more but i can't even focus at all, all i can think about is charlie, god i miss him so badly right now, at like midnight everyone goes to sleep except for me, braylon and treyton and cole, he comes downstairs from his room to get some water and sees me, braylon and treyton at the counter and he walks up to us.
he speaks up "you 3 ok?" we look up at him and then look back down and shake our heads, our eyes are red and puffy from crying, he sighs and sits across from us then speaks again "look, i don't know what you 3 are going through but obviously your baby brother being in a coma upsets you all a lot, how'd he even go into a coma in the first place if he's so young?"
we look down again and treyton speaks up after being silent for a moment "when i was 11, braylon was 12 and lake was 14 and charlie was 1 our biological dad was drunk and he beat charlie up he was crying and we all tried to stop him but he wouldn't he beat him up till he went into a coma, all we could hear was his cries for help we tried our best to protect him and failed, his cries will haunt us forever, the doctors said he might not even survive, and since then all 3 of us and our mom, we would always cry ourselves to sleep, sometimes we still do, charlie's the only one who brought our family happiness, that is until your dad came along, he makes our mom really happy, but that's not gonna change the fact that charlie isn't here with us."

"that's our dad landon" braylon says. "who's he and your mom holding?" cole asks, well dads holding braylon, moms holding me and lake is holding charlie" treyton says. "oh well he's cute" cole says. "yeah he really is" i reply.
me and brothers stare at the photo with tears in our eyes, then cole snaps out out of our thoughts and says we should try to sleep because we have school tomorrow soe we all go to sleep, in the morning before school, me, braylon and treyton go to the hospital, nurse avery greets us and takes us to charlie's room.
we sit on the chairs by the bed, "please wake up baby bro, we miss you, it's been 2 years since you went into the coma, we miss your cute laughs." i say through tears, a few hours later as we were about to leave for school the machine's beep louder and nurse avery comes to check on him. "is he ok?" treyton asks?
