"Do you hear anything?"

"No." After saying that, Jonathan turned off his lighter, moved in the direction of the door, carefully opened it, and left. Bailey, Steve, and Nancy trailed behind.

They found that there had been no disturbance. The trap remained as they had left it. They were perplexed as they kept moving down the corridor since they could see nothing at all.

"This is crazy...This is crazy....This is crazy." Steve began to pace back and forth, muttering. Gazing at him, Bailey folded his arms. He could relate to him since he knew that all of this would drive someone insane.

He stepped over to the phone and began to dial. Bailey shook his head, assuming he was trying to phone someone. Other than those who were already connected, no one else would believe him.

Nancy approached, took the phone from his grasp, and tossed it aside. "What are you do— What are you doing? Are you insane?" He snarled at her.

"It's going to come back!" Nancy scolded him. His demeanour was gentle as he gazed at her. "So you need to leave. Right now."

Bailey nodded towards the door as Steve gazed up at him, their eyes meeting. Steve fled because of something in all of it. Like the coward he was, he sprinted for the door and fled.

Once more, with their backs to one another, the three were scanning the pulsating lights for any indication of the creature. The lights dimmed to nothing and finally went out entirely.

Bailey spun around the moment he heard a roar. "Run!" The monster jumped on him and he shouted. Bailey was only able to make a jab at it as Nancy and Jonathan were screaming his name. Staked into the creature, which let forth a painful growl.

Bailey kept stabbing at it while Nancy began to shoot at it. attempting to combat it as effectively as possible. "Go to hell, you son of a bitch!" Bailey was determined not to allow this monster kill him or his friends, Nancy cried out.

A bat struck the creature squarely. Glancing up, Bailey saw Steve standing there with the bat in his hands. While Nancy stared at Steve in disbelief, Bailey scurried to his feet and Jonathan assisted him.

Steve kept striking the creature with the bat. Bailey was amazed as he whirled the bat around and struck it once again. The beast tumbled backwards into the snare. "He's in the trap!" Jonathan yelled out.

"Jonathan, now!" Nancy gave a yell. After taking the lighter out again, Jonathan flung it into the carpet that was stained with gasoline. It caught fire right away.

Bailey covered his ears as the beast let out a howl. It burnt till nothing remained after it was consumed by the flames. "Get back!" They all backed off as Jonathan roared and extinguished the flames.

The smoke made them all cough. Nancy moved forward and noticed that the creature had vanished, leaving them all perplexed. "Where did it go?" Nancy asked.

"No...It has to be dead." A light flickered and they all started down the hallway. Bailey thought there was another creature on the verge of emerging. Uncontrollably, Steve held onto Bailey's hand once more, causing Bailey to experience a small heart attack. Steve wasn't sure why, but he found solace in Bailey's company.

"Mom. Is that you?" Jonathan muttered as the light kept flickering. As they stepped onto the porch, they noticed additional flickering lights.

"Where's it going?" Nancy questioned.

"I don't think that's the monster." Jonathan answered.

All of them had sat in silence, waiting for Will Byers to wake up—something they had never expected to be doing. Bailey's mother sat next to him, her arm encircling her son's shoulder as they patiently waited. Bailey cradled his knees.

Jonathan entered and gave a nod. Mike excitedly jumped up to wake the boys awake. ""Guys. Guys, he's up. Will is up. Guys, Will's up." and Bailey grinned at that.

With great excitement, the three boys bolted from the room. Bailey was relieved that Will had returned safely, but he found it hard to believe that the upside down was actually done.

Bailey was correct, though he wasn't aware of it at the time; the upside down was still going strong. For the time being, he just leant his head against his mother's shoulder and let out a long sigh.

- Steve is holding Bailey's hand, Steve and Bailey are holding hands. We eventually got to hold hands. Much more exciting stuff is in store. We have one more chapter before we move onto act two.
