Gwen and Sheena had crossed paths many times during their first three years at university, but it wasn’t until their fourth year that they truly became close. What started as casual interactions in shared classes and fleeting conversations in the library had blossomed into a deep, supportive friendship.
Scene: The Coffee Shop
The cozy atmosphere of their favorite coffee shop was a sanctuary from the chaos of university life. Gwen and Sheena sat at a corner table, their books and laptops sprawled out in front of them. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, mingling with the low hum of conversation and soft music playing in the background.
Gwen:(sipping her latte) "I can't believe we have only a few months left. It feels like we just started."
Sheena: (nodding, her brow furrowed in concentration as she scribbles in her notebook) "Yeah, it's surreal. But I'm glad we have each other to get through this. I don't know how I'd manage without you."
Gwen: (smiling warmly) "Same here. You've been my rock, Sheena."
Sheena: (blushing slightly, looking up from her notes) "Well, we've got each other's backs. That's what friends are for."
Their eyes met, and for a moment, the world outside seemed to fade away. Gwen felt a warmth spreading through her chest whenever Sheena looked at her that way. She had been trying to ignore these feelings for a while, but they were becoming harder to push aside.
Scene: Study Session at Gwen’s House
Later that evening, Gwen and Sheena continued their study session at Gwen’s room. The space was so large, filled with soft lighting and the faint scent of lavender from a nearby candle.
Gwen: (stretching and yawning) "I think I’m done for tonight. My brain is fried."
Sheena: (chuckling) "Yeah, me too. We’ve been at this for hours."
Gwen: "How about a break? We could watch a movie or something, because mom and dad have vacation again, they'll be here next week"
Sheena: "That sounds perfect, and also the same, they'll be at home next week, and my lil brother is sleeping over at his friend's house"
Gwen: "Hmmm, so, let's watch a movie now!"
They settled onto the couch, a bowl of popcorn between them. As the movie played, Gwen couldn’t help but steal glances at Sheena, her heart pounding with every stolen look. She wondered if Sheena felt the same way, if she noticed the growing tension between them.
Sheena: (suddenly) "Hey, Gwen?"
Gwen: "Yeah?"
Sheena: "Thanks for always being there for me. I don’t say it enough, but it means a lot."
Gwen: (smiling) "You don’t have to thank me, Sheena. I’ll always be here for you."
They shared a soft, lingering look before turning back to the movie, each lost in their thoughts about what the future might hold.
