"Hey," she greeted, standing up straight, and I stopped to take a good look at her face. There was something awfully familiar about her eyes, but I can't remember what it was. "Hey, are you here for the event?" I asked, straight away, as I felt no need to beat around the bush.

A chuckle escaped her mouth as she shook her head. I doubted her response but decided to ignore it.

"Why are you here?" she asked, and I smiled weakly. "I am the chosen bride of Freen Sarocha Chankimha," was all I said, and she immediately nodded.

"How is it in there?" she asked, and I rolled my eyes as I stood next to her, leaning against the tree as well.

"Pure torture. It's like burning hell," I stated bluntly, and she laughed as I chuckled. I don't know why, but I feel like this stranger and I have a connection already. Maybe it's because I haven't spoken to a normal human being in such a long time, that I'm starting to take comfort even with strangers?

"I'm sure it's not that bad," she said as I raised an eyebrow, but I shook my head. "How? I thought it was every girl's dream to be chosen," she said in a mocking tone, to which I responded with a scoff.

"It's not every girl's dream to be a personal blood bag and get dumped afterwards. I hate it here, to be honest, especially when Freen around this area. I wanted to leave," I mumbled the last two words, and I heard her clear her throat.

"Who is that, princess?" she asked, and I looked up to meet her eyes as I blushed at the nickname. "It doesn't matter," I muttered, not really wanting to talk about Freen or even think about her. "Well, if you hate it so much, then why don't you leave?" she asked, and I sighed heavily.

"I tried to, but ended up caught. I mumbled; the memory of my daddy lying on the ground came to my mind, and I shook it away.

"It didn't turn out well," I finished as I saw her slipping her hands inside her pockets jean. "Well, if you can't run away, there's always another plan for you to execute, right?" she said casually.

I looked at her as if asking what the plan might be. "Use Freen Sarocha as your escape route," she finished, and my eyes widened at her words.

"How do you know her name?" I asked, but she just chuckled before taking out a piece of gum. "Who doesn't, sweetheart?" she asked.

"Tricking Freen? It's highly impossible," I muttered, remembering how she had treated me so far.

"I have to go, but I'll catch up you later, okay?" she said quickly, before walking away, completely ignoring my question.

I was about to call her, but before I could, a hand grabbed me by my wrist. When I turned to look up, it was Freen, who was now frowning at me. It had been five days since I last saw her, but her expression never changed, not even once.

"What are you doing here?" she questioned, her eyes looking at my eyes, and I instantly started to feel uncomfortable.

"I was only taking a walk," I answered quickly, and she gave me a look as if she doubted my words.

"You're not supposed to be here," her voice turned all soft before releasing my hands.

"Sorry, I was just talking to—" I stopped when I noticed that nobody was there anymore.

"Talking to whom?" Freen asked, and I looked around in confusion before turning back to look at her.

"Just leave it," I responded, wondering how that girl was able to run away so quickly.

"What do you mean, 'just leave it'? Were you talking to someone here or..."

"Freen, bring her! The speech is about to begin!" Mint's yelling cut her off. I mentally sighed in relief. Freen groaned as we both quickly walked up to the gate before I stopped to look around that huge oak tree again.

Where did that girl go anyway? I didn't even get to know his name.

"Something wrong?" Nam asked worriedly. I snapped my head towards her before shaking my head quickly, ignoring Freen's intense stare at me. I didn't do anything wrong, so there was no need for me to be scared of her... right? Right.

"Is it done?" Mint asked Freen, and I watched her shake her head.

"It wasn't easy," Freen muttered. I stared at them in confusion, not knowing what they were talking about.

"You were gone for quite a while, phi," Fae said, and I mentally rolled my eyes.

"Too bad it didn't stay that way," I barely muttered under my breath, completely forgetting the fact that vampires were able to hear almost anything.

"Too bad your attitude has gotten worse!" Freen spat, grabbing my cheeks roughly.

"You guys, stop. People are going to notice," Nam groaned, and Freen released me from her grip. "Also, about that person you were talking to earlier," Freen started, causing me to feel nervous. "Did they say anything?" she asked, and I bit my bottom lip before shaking my head.

I'm surprised to see that she still hasn't let it go. It's not like she even saw that girl, so why was she so curious anyway?

"No," I said shortly, and she took a step forward before bringing her lips closer to my ears.

"That better be true, Barbie," she whispered into my ears, causing a shiver down my spine. "Because I don't let go of things so easily." It's not like I even did anything. "Remember that." I saw her enter and took a deep breath before walking in as well.

"Maybe it was a 'fine' idea," I told myself before making my decision. "I'll use Freen as my escape plan."
