Liv moved into the café, quickly shooting off a text to Noah informing him that it was infact okay to have waffles with syrup for breakfast at his half-brothers house.
Noah loved Connor, especially having the chance to spend time with him every weekend. And Liv loved it too, she loved that Noah was close to someone he shared DNA with, and it also gave her the chance to catch up on laundry.
"Hey Liv" Kathleen smiled as she rose from her seat.
"Kathleen, I'm glad you called" Liv smiled, moving to hug her before they moved into their seats opposite one another.
"I ordered you an iced coffee, your favorite"
"Wow, thank you" Liv took a quick sip of her drink.
Coffee was a vice Liv had started to slowly give up over the years per Dr Lindstroms request, but she couldn't seem to give it up completely.
"How's Noah?"
"He's great. Ginny and Matt are going to take the boys to a water park today"
"Wow, that sounds exciting"
"Oh yeah. I've been told it's the coolest place to go" Liv chuckled, before he mind started drifting.
"Liv" Kathleen reached across the table and took her hand in hers "Ask me about him" Liv smiled gently.
"How's your dad?"
"Truthfully, I don't know. He and uncle Randall got uncle Joe into rehab, I think it opened some old army wounds for him. Dad's been closing cases. Oh and Eli got his girlfriend pregnant and dropped out of college-"
"Eli got a girl pregnant!?"
"Oh yeah. Dad was not happy"
"I still remember the day he was born and now he's going to have a baby" Liv shook her head in disbelief and the pair took a sip of their coffees.
"You haven't spoken to Dad in a while?"
"No, we keep missing each other again" Kathleen nodded "How's Bernie?"
"She's fine. Her memory is a little hit and miss lately, she thought I was mom the other week"
"I'm sorry"
"It's okay. She's been living with uncle Randall for a little while and it's been nice to take a break from her if I'm honest" Liv nodded "Tell me more about you and dad though, the intervention got a little weird. Are there any developments there?"
"He's my partner" She said, as if it meant nothing more than what it was. Liv lifted her drink and took a sip of it as Kathleen shot a look at her.
"He's more than that Liv and we all know it. Things are different now that mom's gone. There are possibilities-"
"Now you sound like you father" Liv laughed.
"He said there were possibilities?" Liv shot her a look.
"I watched you grow up, talking about possibilities with your father now that your mother is gone seems wrong"
"Liv, we all know how you feel about one another-" Liv's phone vibrated on the table and she picked it up.
"Hey Fin. Yeah. I'll meet you back at the office, make sure the press is contained" Liv hung up the phone and turned her attention back to Kathleen "Work. Let's do this again soon"
"Yeah. I've missed our talks" She smiled as Liv rose from her seat and placed a kiss to the top of her head.
"I'll see you soon" Liv smiled before she left the café.

Liv headed into the squad room, spotting the Organized Crime squad mixed in with her own.
"Not to sound like I don't love OC but what are you doing here?" Liv smiled.
"Joint case" Anaya spoke up.
"Apparently our vic was last seen getting into the car of this man-" Fin handed her a picture of him "Lionel Pace. He has ties to sex trafficking"
"A sex trafficker wouldn't kill his merchandise so how did she end up dead?" Liv asked.
"She could've fought, maybe she was too much trouble than she was worth? Curry and Velasco are with the coroner now" Fin told her.
"Well, let's gather everything we have on Lionel. I'm sure Jet can help with that?" Liv asked and the younger woman nodded. Liv moved towards her office, feeling Elliot following behind her.
"Hey partner"
"Hey, I just had coffee with Kathleen"
"Oh, did she tell you about Eli?"
"Oh yeah. He's still a baby to me, I can't believe that he's going to be a dad"
"Neither can I" He admitted.
"How are you dealing with it?"
"I'm not. He's all grown up but, having a kid that young isn't always good and he wants to be a cop on top of it all"
"You should talk to him, tell him that you don't want him to end up like you"
"I don't regret being a cop, not when it gave me you" There eyes met for just a moment before she looked away.
"You're scared and you should tell him that" He nodded.
"He won't like it"
"So tell him how you would tell me. Don't lecture him, talk to him, man to man"
"I'll try"
"Good. Now, let's see what Jet's found" She smiled heading out of her office with Elliot following right behind her.
"Yes Captain"
