I never imagined I would see Hanni so nervous as she when we arrived at the Kim house. My friend was always the one who got me out of the scrapes I got myself into, the one who helped me whenever I needed it, and above all, the one who always stood by my side. It was only right that I stand by her now.

"Minji!" Danielle's mother curly hair enveloped me in an enthusiastic hug. "I'm so glad you came!"

Then she turned to Hanni, who held her breath for a few seconds but was embraced just as warmly. Just act normal Pham!

"You must be Hanni!" she smiled kindly. "Yunjin told us about you! Welcome! Come in!"

The Marsh had a relatively small house compared to the kim's mansion, but it was cozy and very comfortable. They lived well.

"Hello!" Yunjin appeared in the kitchen. Her mother just glared at her, then walked past without saying anything, leaving us alone.

"Is she okay?" I asked, puzzled by her behavior. I hadn't expected such an enthusiastic reception from her.

"She's usually like that, but it's worse today!" The red-haired shrugged. "Did you and Somi have a fight?" She directed this at Hanni who furrowed her brows and shook her head. I didn't know anything about a fight either.

"Why?" She asked, visibly worried.

"She told our parents, by herself!" Yunjin was also concerned. "Well, she didn't mention you! Part of why my mom is acting this way is because she's having a meltdown, I think! She's not always like this"

"Where's Danielle?" Mingyu asked, more concerned and even more confused.

At that moment, Haerin appeared, bundled up in several jackets against the cold. Her hair was loosely tied, and she wore makeup. Beautiful. I smiled immediately, but she was too worried to react. She just shook her head.

"According to Kang, she's still locked in her room!" Jisoo continued. "She only said she's not ready to talk to anyone yet, and doesn't want to comeout until she is ready to! That's why I asked if you two had fought!"

"No!" The short girl ruffled her bangs, which she hadn't cut yet. "She never lets me finish talking!"

"So, you did fight?" The red-haired was skeptical.

"Not yet!" Hanni took a deep breath. "Where's her room?"

"Follow the stairs; you'll see my dad, my mom, and Hyein standing in front of it!" Yunjin shrugged, smiling. "I can't handle you alone, but you're going suffer for taking advantage of her!"

"We both wanted it!? And it's not her first time but mine!" Hanni said as she started running up the stairs.

"Believe me, she found his courage!" I smiled sideways, and Yunjin responded, then we ran up the stairs to the second floor.

"Mr. and Mrs. Kim, if you'll excuse me!" Hanni moved the two aside and knocked loudly on the door.

Haerin beside me stifled a laugh.

"Marsh Danielle, open this door now!" The short-girl shouted her full name, angry—it was amusing to see her like that. "Dani!"

The door slowly opened. Everyone there was surprised, apparently having tried to get her to open it for some time.

"Are you crazy?" The short girl yelled. "Where did you get that nonsense you told your parents?"

Dani's face was swollen and red from crying. Haerin moved toward her, but I held her wrist. I realized what I had done and looked at her, waiting for a reaction. But she didn't pull away. I slid my hand into hers, and she smiled faintly.
