This all started because of an innocent dare. Although the glare I'm getting from the pretty girl across from me makes me think otherwise. "I want both of you to know that vandalising school property is absolutely not permitted at Winterville High, and if I catch you both again, you will be expelled. Is that understood?' We both nod our heads and begin to stand from our chairs. However, just as I'm about to leave, Miss Thompson begins to speak again. "Valeria, you can leave. Theo, I need to have a chat with you." while I watch the new girl, Valeria, leave. My brain instantly goes into panic mode, what could I have possibly done for her to need to speak with me? I get ploughed away from my thoughts when Miss Thompson suddenly clears her throat. "Theo, if you want to keep your place on the football team and maybe even a place in this school, you need to get your act together, your grades or lower than they ever have been, and I see you in my office at least once a week." Well, that wasn't what I was expecting. "I'm sorry, Miss Thompson. I'll do better." She nods and purses her lips for a moment before speaking again. "I think a fair punishment for you would be, to get you a tutor instead of football practice until you can get your grades back up. In fact, I think I have the perfect person for the job."
No football practice? Is she crazy or something? Football is the only thing that entertains me at this school. "You may go now." I almost get to the door before she says to me "Your first tutor session will be tomorrow in the library after school, do not be late."
