Chapter 2

I can't believe that guy. If only I hadn't been late to that class, then none of this would have even happened. I've only been going to this school for two weeks, and I've already been threatened to get expelled, I mean how is that going to look good on a record for collage? "Valeria! Wait up." What in the world? Nobody even knows me in this school. I turn around to find. Oh. It's the guy from principal Thompson's office. "Um hello?" I say annoyance creeping in to my voice. "Look, I'm really sorry about earlier, it was only meant to be a stupid joke." "Yeah, a stupid joke that could have gotten me kicked out on my second week of being at this school. Do you know how humiliating that is?" His tanned olive skin heats with pink splotches. "Again, I'm really sorry, I didn't think anything bad would happen." "Maybe next time you should think a bit harder." I turn away from him and continue walking away. As I'm walking out of the school gate I get a text from my aunt.

"Hi sweetie, I'm going to be late to picking you up today because I'm being held back at work to help out with a big presentation."

"Okay. I can wait for you at the library near school."

I put my phone back into my jeans pocket and start walking again. As I'm walking, I can't help but think back to the boy from principal Thompson's office. I try to remember his name but fail miserably. It takes me around 5 minutes before I finally remember. "Oh, Theodore that was it!" My cheeks start heat with embarrassment when I realise that I said that out loud instead of in my head. I look around me to see if anybody heard. relief washes over me when I see that nobody is around.

10 minuets have passed by the time I reach the library. "Hi Debbie," I say on way to the romance section. "Oh, hello dear! We finally got that book you wanted in today,"
