Nevaeh stood frozen in the street, watching the police car disappear around a corner with Deimos inside. Her heart raced, mind reeling from the unexpected turn of events and the shocking realization that she had just called Deimos her brother. The word echoed in her mind, feeling both foreign and undeniably right.

As the initial shock wore off, Nevaeh's warrior instincts kicked in. Something about this situation felt wrong—terribly wrong. The officer's eyes... there had been an unnatural flicker, a coldness that sent chills down her spine. Then it hit her like a bolt of lightning.

"Veil Stalker," she whispered, her blood running cold.

The pieces fell into place with terrifying clarity. The officer wasn't an officer at all, but one of the dreaded Veil Stalkers—beings of shadow and deceit who could take on the appearance of others. No wonder Deimos had warned her not to fight. He must have realized it too.

Nevaeh's fists clenched at her sides, nails digging into her palms. She had let them take Deimos without a fight, and now... now she had to make it right.

Her eyes scanned the nearby buildings. She spotted a fire escape and sprinted towards it, her movements fluid and swift. Scaling the metal structure with ease, she reached the rooftop and raced across it, her eyes fixed on the car below. As it turned down another street, she didn't hesitate. She leapt off the edge, using her sai to latch onto the side of a building and run along its wall, matching the car's speed.

Timing her jump perfectly, Nevaeh landed on the roof of the speeding car, her sai securing her grip. The vehicle swerved as the Veil Stalkers inside realized she was there. One of them climbed out of the passenger window, a sinister weapon in hand. The barrel glowed with an unnatural light, and Nevaeh's eyes widened as she realized it was no ordinary firearm.

Before she could react, the Veil Stalker fired a searing blast of cosmic energy from his Seraph Blaster. The scorching bolt cut through the air, hitting her arm with a burning intensity. She cried out, the pain unlike anything she'd ever felt. The force of the impact sent her flying off the car, tumbling across the asphalt before coming to a painful stop.

Gritting her teeth, Nevaeh forced herself to her feet. Her arm throbbed, the wound still smoking from the Seraph Blaster's attack. She glanced up just in time to see the car disappearing around another corner. Her heart sank, but she refused to give up. She couldn't.

She pushed through the pain, sprinting down the street. She had to find another way to track them. The city around her was a maze of towering buildings and winding alleys, but she refused to let it intimidate her. Somewhere in this urban jungle, Deimos was being held captive, and she would tear the place apart brick by brick if that's what it took to find him.

Pausing at an intersection, her keen eyes spotted a traffic camera mounted on a nearby pole. A spark of hope ignited in her chest. If she could access the camera footage, she might be able to track the car's route.

Nevaeh ducked into a nearby alley, her warrior instincts on high alert. She didn't have Deimos' technological skills, but she had something else—an uncanny ability to track and hunt, honed through years of training in the Nether Realm. Her eyes scanned the area, picking up subtle clues that others might miss—a faint tire track here, a disturbed piece of gravel there.

For hours, she followed the trail, each clue leading her deeper into the city's underbelly. The sun had long since set, the streets now bathed in the eerie glow of flickering streetlights. Nevaeh moved like a shadow, her every sense on high alert.

Finally, the trail led her to a run-down industrial district, its abandoned warehouses standing like silent sentinels in the darkness. Nevaeh's breath caught in her throat as she spotted the car parked outside a particularly decrepit building. This had to be it.
