Mark’s POV

Five hours later…

There were a total of 7 bodies. All in different states of decomposition. It was a nightmare. However, it could have been worse. If we were not able to stop Richard, how many other women would have suffered the same fate?

I remember back in the pawn shop, watching as my beautiful fiancee stood up to Richard. I know it wasn’t only her, but Angela.

I don’t know how I feel about possession, but I knew she would not hurt my love. I knew she would protect her.

I was shocked to see all the other phantoms appear. Each woman looked so much like my Destiny, I almost cried.

What would have happened if I hadn’t had her first? Would she end up another victim? I can’t even fathom the thought.

Luckily, I will never have to know what it is like to have a woman I love brutally murdered. She was safe now.

I pulled Destiny into my arms as we watched the last of the bodies being placed into body bags.

I can feel Angela and the other spirits with us. This was what they were waiting for. To be laid to rest and have their families find their bodies.

I sigh in relief.

It’s finally over.

I look down at my beautiful Destiny.

“How are you feeling?” I ask.

“I’m better. Now the girls will all have peace and hopefully, I won’t suffer any more nightmares,” she smiles up at me.

All of a sudden, Angela appears before us. “That’s right, Destiny. You were our destiny at this time. We needed you to put us all at peace.”

Destiny’s eyes shine with happiness. “I am so happy you all will be laid to rest properly. I know your mom already buried you, but you needed your revenge as well.”

“Yes. Now, I hope you and your true love enjoy a long and happy life together. By the way, keep the ring. I hope it brings you both the happiness I was never able to have,” she smiled and then disappeared.

I could feel each spirit leave our presence. It was somber and melancholy. But it seemed right.

“Now, my love… I will cherish you for the rest of your lives,” I whispered.

Now, I have my own destiny to fulfill.

The end.
