It was the week leading up to Halloween and I was seriously so excited. I loved Halloween. Specifically because of the costumes and sweets.
My school took Halloween super seriously so everywhere I looked there was a reminder of it.
The real treat of it all though was the cinnamon spice flavour in everything! For example right now I was sitting at a lunch table getting ready to bite into a delicious looking cinnamon apple twist.
That is just as I brought it to my mouth and took a huge bite, Val and Allie came up and sat down opposite me.
Suddenly Val began,
"So me and Allie have been talking about the haunted walk competition and we thought that we could go as a 3 for it if you want?!" Val said smiling
Swallowing the flaky pastry in my mouth I gasped excitedly. I had totally forgot about the haunted walk.
It was this super fun walk through a spooky forest near our school that the school dressed up and covered in cobwebs, guts, fake blood, zombies and basically all the cliches you involve with Halloween.
Every year our school held a competition on Halloween for the fastest duo to complete it as it also had obstacles.
For the last few years me and Val had always done it together but now she had Allie and I totally respected that, we still spent plenty of time together and I understood if Val wanted to do this with Allie. The walk was kinda known for being a hookup spot too so no way was I disturbing that.
"No, no don't worry I was actually gonna go with someone else this year, yous guys go together! It's romantic!" I said winking at them just to watch Val send me death glares and Allie blush whilst laughing.
God they were so cute together!
Laughing at them both I smiled whilst taking another bite.
"So who are you going with?" Val asked.
Shit. I hadn't thought of that. I only lied because i knew Val wouldn't let me go alone.
Chewing thoughtfully I was about to spew another lie when Allie sprung up.
"Omg Val, the art rooms! We forgot to lock up before we left. Ms Fitz is gonna kill us if she finds out!" Allie groaned.
"Shit shit shit, sorry Keira we gotta run, talk to you later!" Val said before speed walking to the stairs with Allie in tow.
Well thank god for that. The timing was perfect.
Now I just had to find someone that was willing to go with me.
I think i was gonna ask Aaron, I'm 99% sure he'll say yes. We would just be going as friends anyways.
"No" Aaron said 3 hours later when i saw him at his front door.
Walking up his houses path I stopped in front of him.
"Please please please! I cant go with Val because she's going with Allie and I don't wanna third wheel them!" I said
"Keira i hate Halloween, I'm sorry but no i cant go" He sighed.
