OPERATION: CRYING LOTUS

OBITO'S POV

As I sit in the mission briefing room playing with my kunai, The Doctor walked in and said "Listen 005, this will be more than likely a suicide mission but I want you to know that Lady Nagant will be handling things from a far" I look at her and reply "No Shit, her sniper arm isn't meant for close range" she rolls her eyes and continues "Well the target might know you are coming so be careful" I chuckle and reply "Oh now your telling me to be careful what happened to that shit 5 years ago huh when your Operation Storm Cloud hit the fan and we lost 200 'Numbers' huh where was the be careful then? you lost your actual kids in that purge and you didn't care?" she sighs "I'm only doing this because Lady Nagant asked me too don't take it out on me" I stand up "I became the supposed leader of the numbers that day and news flash I was 15 when that happened, I didn't need to run your special secretive force at that age. That incident when you knew full well what would happen and didn't give us any Intel that's why I resent your ass" shortly after saying that The President and Lady Nagant walk in and Kaina sees my full face for the first time as I have a nasty scar on my upper left eye and she also notices my left eye is a lighter shade than my right, I then look at her and sigh, "Don't worry about it Kaina" she smiles and caresses my cheek and replies "Its nice" we then sit down and get our mission briefed to us.

KAINA'S POV

Once we arrived at my sniping position Obito sat down and took his helmet off and said "Listen carefully" I look at him with interest and he continued, "So our target knows he's being hunted so he's gonna have many guards so I'll deal with them and when I get to the room I'll possess him and hold him still and you take the shot" I look at him and reply "but, what will happen to you" he sighs and says "Don't worry about it all that matters is we complete this mission" I look at him "The Hell you mean it doesn't matter what happens to you Obi?!, do you not know how much I care about you!" he hesitates "Kaina... I didn't mean it like that, you know that VP cares more about success than survivability of her heroes, trust me I know it better than anyone" I sighs and say "What do you mean Obi?" he looks at me and says "5 years back there was that shit show where 200 heroes in training was killed because of a freak accident quirk malfunctions in the old city of Kobe before it was purged and turned into a whole new city, I was apart of that where I was included in fighting off the random psychos with a quirk malfunction and escorting civilians to a safe area before we purged it the program that those 200 kids died in I was apart of turning children into weapons and cheating them out of childhoods there was 590 at the beginning of the program 225 died during the training process, then 200 died during the purge leaving 25 kids left then she would send us out on individual suicide missions, leaving only 10 left alive today, hell it could be less" I just look at him and he continues "She watched over our training eventually being a mother figure to some and an actual mother to a few and then when she became VP she had more power in her hand and became cold she sent her own kids to their deaths and that's the day I lost all respect for her and started to call her Doctor instead of ma'am..." I look at him holding his blade in his hand and I say "Obi... I didn't know" he chuckles "Its a good thing too, the things I did during those missions... I don't think you would've liked me, I was a cold blooded killing machine who was hell bent on destroying everything that was in my path, a villain you could say was how I was seen to the public my name was 005 we was called The Numbers" I look at him and place my hand on his cheek and smile "It doesn't matter who you was in the past Obi, its who you are now, you are strong because you didn't let it consume you and continue down that dark path" he smiles and lays his hand on mine "thanks Kaina"

5 YEARS AGO/OBITO'S POV

"Your mission is to take out and deal with any aggressive people who have a quirk malfunction and use violence" our leader of The Numbers said, I then look 002 and say "So are we going in separate groups or what?" 002 then said "hmm, no idea yet 001?" we then look at 001 and he's being held by the throat  and a blade goes through it and blood splatters across both of our faces and I watch 002 stand in complete utter shock as I am then impaled by the same guy and thrown into a crowd of civilians and a woman screams "Oh my god, how is he still alive" as my lungs slowly start back up and I lay on the sidewalk with wide open wound pouring out blood. I then hear 002 scream out "AHHHHH" as she is then split in half by another guy it just continues until 200 was killed and I crawled to a wall and stood back up and continued to fight until every last one of those malfunctioned freaks was dead, then the surviving Numbers and I return back and I go off "What the hell was that huh, where was our Intel" the Director of The Numbers looks at me and says "It was sent to you but of course you didn't read it 005 you never do" I stare at her and reply "Bullshit, how many of you guys got anything from this bitch" no one raises their hands I then reply "See you fucking wench, we didn't get shit from you" she then said "Shut up, if it wasn't for me none of you would have this opportunity to be heroes" I remove my mask as my face now has minor scars besides the one on my left eye and I say "What your saying is if you didn't steal us from or families and have the medical staff of the hospitals to lie about their child's passing?!" the director stays quiet and I continue "That's right Doctor, I know what you've been doing and soon the Chairman will unless you release me from the program" she sighs and says "You can't leave just yet...You still have one more mission" I then glare "Fucking great, how many more of us do you want to loose huh, I'm only alive because of my quirk" The Doctor then says "Listen 005, you may be alive from you quirk but you need to lead them on this last mission and I promise you can leave the numbers" I roll my eyes "Good" I brush past her and go take a shower and I stare at myself in the mirror viewing my scarred up body and I sigh.

2 YEARS AGO/OBITO'S POV

I stare at the raining city inside the briefing room, and the I hear a voice that I haven't heard for 3 years and I look at the direction and see The Doctor standing next to the Chairman and she said "Fang, we are proud to announce you will be getting a new partner." I look back out the window and say "Throwing aside the dead like always huh Doctor? Who's my new partner" The Chairman said "Well she has been climbing the rankings pretty well her name is Lady Nagant" I then look back at them and in walks in a beautiful woman with long midnight blue/purple hair with pink highlights and stunning purple eyes and with a joyful aura around herself I blush under my mask and said "Nice to meet you I'm Fang" I then turn back to the window, I then here The Doctor and The Chairman say "He's not really a people person but he will take care of his teammates so you should be fine, anyways we'll let you two talk before we give you your mission" I then hear footsteps approaching and she stops next to me and I look at her" she gives a soft smile and holds her hand out "My name is Kaina Tsutsumi, what's yours?" I let out a sigh and shake her hand "Obito Yakamoji" she smiles even brighter "Nice to meet you Obi" I then reply "Obi?" she giggles "Yep, I'm gonna call you Obi for now on unless we are in public" I nod and stand up and say "Well we better get prepared for our mission briefing" she nods and sits down next to me.

PRESENT/KAINA'S POV

I crouch with my sniper arm aimed into the location of our target and I then hear Obi's voice on comms say "ok I'm making my way to the power box to take out the power and for you to use you thermal scope" I then reply "Understood be careful" I hear him chuckle on the comms and reply "I will try" the power then goes out and people starts being taken out and then Obito came back on comms and says "You need to take the shot now they are making it difficult for me" I re aim the my arm and see that our target is staring out the window right at me and I shoot him and he drops, I then go to tell Obi the target is down and all I hear is static on his end and I see the hallway lights come on and see him standing in the hallway surrounded by bodies and he then slouches against the wall and slides down and a blood trail follows him down and I rush in and get him to see him bleeding profusely I then said "OBI! NO NO NO PLEASE DON'T" I then hear a soft chuckle "Kaina, I'll be fine just get me out of this place" tears form into my eyes and I do as he asks and gets him to the roof of the building I was on I then take his helmet off and see him bleeding from the mouth "OBI..." He smiles and said "I'm fine give me a second" he closes his eyes and I feel him stop breathing" I then clench his body and start to cry "No Obi..." I then feel his heart start up again and hear his voice "I said I needed a second" I look at Obito and pull him into me and hold him tightly "Obi..." he sighs and hugs me back "Kaina...I..." I then kiss him deeply and then break it "Damn it Obi, you scared the shit out of me" he then kisses me back and replied "Sorry, I didn't mean too" we sit in silence and The Chairman comes onto our comms "I'm not seeing any traces of movement in the targets building did you complete your task" Obi then replied "Yes sir we just finished up" The Chairman then said good come back and you can call it a night" I respond "Understood sir" Obi then stands up and holds his hand out I take it and he pulls me closer and I rest my head on his shoulder and holds me close and whispers "Kaina, I love you so much" I smile and clinch into him and he holds me close and says "lets go Kaina" I smile and we leave.
