Dalek awoke for the third time on the deck of the ship bound for Heropi, a small town in the Spirtomaegi nation. The sky was a pale blue, with the sun just beginning to rise over the horizon. His stomach growled loudly, reminding him that he hadn't eaten in three days since he'd been aboard the ship. Worse still, he felt the gnawing discomfort of boredom. "Ughhh, why does this have to take so longgg," Dalek groaned, stretching his arms and legs. He had been too worried about the potential danger to ask for food or explore the ship. Now, hunger and idleness are pressed upon him. Determined to pass the time and test his burgeoning magical abilities, Dalek decided to practice spells. Even though his first successful spellcasting had been unintentional, the experience had ignited a thirst for more. He retrieved the Hydronichi from his bag and began flipping through its pages. "Oooo," he exclaimed as he reached the second chapter, "Ijion — Useful Spells." Skimming through the chapter, he recognized "Grioti — Surface Surfing," the spell he had unintentionally cast. Though tempting, he knew he wasn't ready to attempt it again. Instead, another spell caught his eye: "Orcali — Water Spout." It seemed simple enough to try over the ocean, but he worried it might draw attention. Dalek climbed to the back of the ship and peered over the railing. Concentrating his focus, he held out his left hand and uttered, "Orcali!" To his disappointment, nothing happened. He stood there, watching as the ship glided over the ocean's surface, the water parting like silk beneath its hull. As he stared into the distance, memories of his parents flooded his mind. He recalled walking through the streets of Marcenia with them, his father lifting him high into the air as if he could touch the stars. He remembered watching his mother cook, the pot of boiling water rising dangerously before his father cast a simple spell to stop it from spilling over. These memories brought both comfort and pain, a reminder of what he had lost. A yawn escaped his lips. Despite it being the middle of the day, exhaustion weighed heavily on him. "That sounds like my sign to rest," he muttered to himself, heading below deck to the sleeping quarters. Finding an unoccupied bed, he snuggled into the comfy mattress, quickly drifting off to sleep. His rest was abruptly interrupted by an angry shout. "Hey pipsqueak! You're somewhere you don't belong!" A burly pirate stood over him, eyes blazing with fury. "Get outta my bed!", "Oh! Sure!" Dalek said nervously, scrambling to his feet. "I had no idea it belonged to someone." The pirate had no interest in reconciliation. He lunged at Dalek with a growl. Terrified, Dalek thrust his hand forward and yelled, "Mirriak!" Instantly, the pirate was knocked back into the wall, falling unconscious. "Oh! My! God!" Dalek exclaimed, realizing he had once again done magic. His excitement was short-lived, however, as he heard the crew shouting, "HEROPI!" The ship had finally reached its destination. Dalek ran up to the main deck and saw the ship docking at the port of Heropi. "Finally!" he shouted, relief washing over him. He had made it to Heropi, where he could seek help and guidance. As he stepped off the ship, the sight of Heropi took his breath away. The town was nestled between rolling hills and a sparkling bay, its buildings painted in soft pastels and surrounded by lush greenery. The air was filled with the scent of salt and flowers, and the gentle hum of magic lingered in the atmosphere. Dalek's stomach growled again, reminding him of his immediate needs. First, he needed food and shelter. But as he gazed at the serene town, a sense of hope filled him. He couldn't wait to explore this marvelous place and begin the next chapter of his journey. With the Hydronichi tucked under his arm, Dalek stepped into Heropi, eager to discover what adventures awaited him in this unfamiliar land.
