Everything He's Lost

Chapter One

3rd POV
It was a busy afternoon in the Dragneel household. Lots of running around packing things up for the upcoming mission.
"Luce have you seen my scarf?" Natsu shouted as Lucy was rummaging through the dresser drawers. "Did you check in your travel bag?" Lucy shouted back moving to the next drawer searching for more of his things that he couldn't find.
A little girl bolted around her mother and quickly went to her room, shoving her hand behind her pillow and grabbing her father's white scaly scarf.
"Papa I found it!!" She quickly called as she ran out of her room and downstairs to her father. She quickly jumped into her father's arms.
"Hey sweetheart. Where was my scarf?" Natsu asked the little girl in his arms. His daughter had taken most of his physical characteristics but took on her mother's brains and kindness. Little Nashi was coming up on her sixth birthday and every day Natsu could see more of Lucy in her.
"Papa it was under my bed. I'm sorry I stole it from mama and papas room when I had a nightmare..." The little girl looked down at the ground sorry for lying to her dad.
"Oh Nash it's ok I'm not mad sweetie. I was just concerned that I lost it. You know what tell you what I'm gonna get you a scarf just like mine, when I come home from my mission with aunty Erza, Wendy, and uncle Gray." Natsu said ruffling his daughter's hair.
Lucy came down the stairs waddling slightly as she was a few months pregnant with their second child. Natsu quickly rushed over to her carrying his pack and took the pack from her and helped her walk the rest of the way down the stairs. Lucy reached up and kissed his cheek. "Nashi honey do you want to walk your father to the train station. Afterword we will go get something to eat and get some groceries." Lucy said smiling down at her daughter.
Nashi beamed up at her mother, wanting to stay with her father for as long as she could. "Yes mama!" She quickly jumped up running back to her room to grab her coat and some shoes. Lucy looked over to her husband and smiled quickly wrapping her arms around his shoulders as his instinctively wrapped his arms around her waist.
"I love you." Natsu said looking into Lucy's eyes. The eyes that radiated so much happiness. The eyes he had looked into for years. The same eyes that their daughter had. "I love you too." Lucy said swaying in a dance, with music only they heard.
They separated as they heard the tiny pitter patter of their daughter's feet coming down the stairs. She smiled up at her parents the same toothy smile that her father always gave. "I'm ready!" She cheered as she jumped off the last step. Her mother gave her a stern glance that Nashi caught and looked away.
Natsu gave a quick chuckle as he lifted his daughter into the air as she giggled and grabbed onto his shoulders. He looked over his little family and realized he was so incredibly happy. He set his daughter down leaned down and kissed his wife's slightly swollen belly and then stood back up and kissed his wife.
"Alright Dragneels let's head out before Aunty Erza kills me." Natsu said as he went to the door, his little family close behind him.
The family of three left their little cottage on the forests edge and headed towards the bustling town of Magnolia. Before Natsu and Lucy got married Happy and Natsu had turned their small house into a slightly larger one allowing Lucy to move in with them. It took a few years for them to completely renovate the house but it was well worth the wait.
They had even built a little nook for Happy to stay in when he came to visit. Happy had moved out shortly after Nashi was born in order to give the new family some space. Though they tried to keep him around he insisted on moving out and to a new place. He lived with Wendy and Carla but still visited the Dragneels almost every day.
"There you are Natsu. Erza was getting ready to come storm your home." Gray said holding his own pack while his wife was standing next to him clutching a newborn baby in her arms. "Ah I'm here now aren't I." Natsu said as he fist bumped his friend. The years of petty squabble behind them after years of fighting they matured quite quickly. Not really. They still fight but due to the looming red haired demon, they were kind of forced them to act semi mature.
The group heard the train whistle blow causing Natsu to turn a slight green. They all looked at him and chuckle slightly. Natsu quickly turns to his little family giving his little girl a tight hug and kiss on the top of her head. Then he turns to his wife hugging her and kissing her lips. "Be safe and don't burn the town down." Lucy slightly laughs as she holds him at arms length. It was always hard watching her husband go out on a dangerous mission, but she knew he was strong and would be fine. "Hey you know I'll be fine." Natsu said quickly wiping a tear from his wife's face.
He looked down at his little girl and noticed a tear roll down from her chocolate brown eyes. "Hey how about this we can take a small job when I get back all three of us." Natsu said as he noticed the others board the train. Nashi quickly brightened up and nodded fast as she instantly cheered up.
Natsu looked back over at his wife giving her one more once over. "Hey you guys be safe ok. Call me if you need I have my lacrima. I'll be here in a flash if you need me." He said caressing her face.
"Let's go flame brain." He heard Gray call from the train. "Yeah yeah I'm coming Elsa." Natsu called back as he turned from his wife. He grabbed his bag from the ground and quickly turned and waved to his family as he boarded the train.
His small family waved and waved until they could no longer see the train. "Alright Nash you wanna go shopping first or go to the guild and get some food?" She asked her daughter as she grabbed her hand. "Umm I want some food." Her daughter quickly said as she started walking to the guild she had pretty well known her whole life.
"Alright to the guild it is." Her mother said as she followed her daughter to the guild.
