“I trust you understand why I’m here, Aera.”
Aera’s eyes widened slightly, her nerves returning as she looked at him. “I... I’m not sure I follow.”
She wasn’t so sure why he had come by. All she could think about was their last meeting two days ago. Did he think she was a spy? Her mind filled with wild assumptions, and she opened her mouth, blurting out the bizarre thought.
“Y-You don’t think I’m a spy, Mister Lee, do you?”
Logan chuckled and shook his head, seeing the timid side of the adorable woman. He purred, his voice low and seductive, “A spy? No offense, but if you were a spy, you’d be the worst one I’ve ever encountered.”
The man indeed had a way with words, causing Aera to relax. She timidly nodded and waited for him to speak, quite embarrassed to respond to his words.
“You helped my men, despite knowing the danger they posed,” he explained the reason for his visit while lightly tracing the tablecloth pattern with his finger.
Not anyone in their right mind would have done that, which clearly showed this woman was different. And Logan Lee, for all his guarded demeanor, couldn’t help but be intrigued by her.
He leaned forward, his eyes locking onto hers. “And now, I owe you.”
Aera’s heart fluttered at his words, the sincerity in his voice overwhelming. She nodded again, her voice barely a whisper. “I just did what anyone would do.”
Logan’s lips curled into a soft smile. “Not everyone,” he corrected, his voice carrying a note of genuine admiration. The world isn’t the same anymore, where the qualities of genuine kindness have vanished.
And it’s not often that men like him are favored and offered help by commoners. She, who is naive and pure, isn’t like them.
“You’re special.”
Aera blushed and looked down, saying softly, “If there’s anyone who owes something, it’s me.”
Logan watched her with magnetic eyes, drinking in all the beauty before him. He stayed mum for a moment, appreciating the quiet grace she exuded.
When Aera met his gaze, she sweetly smiled and asked, “Would you like anything to have?”
Logan’s charming smile deepened as he accepted her kind offer. “I would love to try whatever you recommend.” Deep down, he just wanted to spend some time with her.
Aera’s cheeks blushed at his smile and she nodded. “I’ll bring out our house special,” she said, turning to head toward the kitchen.
Logan followed her with his hands in his pockets, his rugged appearance standing in stark contrast to the warm, inviting environment of the restaurant.
