The war is not his fault. And so, he tried not to be involved and stayed out of that war matter; let the old farts do that.
By now, His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Ludius III, sat on his comfortable couch with Remille across the table. This is the tearoom of the palace.
"Tell me, Remille. What do you think of the Empire today?" Ludius asked her as he relishes himself on the couch and took a sip of his tea.
"Your Majesty, in all of my honesty, the Empire is powerful. None can rival its might." Remille started.
"It stands on top of the continent and has ruled the eastern hemisphere for years. The Empire has become powerful ever since your father's reign until today." She finished.
"I see." The young Emperor smiled as he put his tea back on the tea table.
"Indeed, ever since my father's reign, the Empire has become a lot stronger than before. He is the reason why the Empire became a superpower." Ludius said as he reminisced the time of his father's era.
"He dreamed to bring Parpaldia to the world stage and brought Phillades together, united as a continent. Even if he's now gone, I shall resume the legacy he left on me." He finished as he stared at the wall, where the exact replica of his father's image in celebration of his 10th year of reign is hung.
Remille also stared at the image; he could feel the warm and sharp gaze the image emitted. The painter of this image is so delicate and detailed that he can bring this very image to life and shroud it in a powerful aura.
"Now, Remille. Am I a good ruler? A great emperor?" Ludius asked as he shifted his gaze to Remille.
"Of course, you are a good and a great emperor, Your Majesty." Remille said.
"Your diplomatic skill is undeniable! Your order is absolute! Your image is our pride! Your name echoes across the Empire and the continent! None can rival you, and none can compare you!" She continued.
"Indeed.." Ludius then took another sip of his tea.
"None of my predecessors are able to compare my abilities. They have transcended their legacies all the way until me."
"My diplomacy is indeed undoubted, and my charisma is simply undefeated.. Maybe you are right, Remille... None can rival me." Ludius finished.
Remille felt her heart pump faster as a shiver was sent into her spine.
"With your duty as the auditor of the Foreign Affairs Auditing Office, I expect you to be a competent and hard worker. I believe you can do and fulfill the duty of an auditor." Ludius said to her.
Suddenly, corn-sized sweat poured down from her face. Remille has not done anything so far and has only meddled in superpower-level circumstances and problems. Of course, that could be a problem if His Imperial Majesty knew that.
"I expect the best from you." His Imperial Majesty added.
Remille only nodded and smiled. So far, His Imperial Majesty still doesn't know what she's doing, so it's okay.
"I appreciate your words and will hold it dear, Your Imperial Majesty." Remille replied.
Ludius gazed at her and nodded in understanding. Then he kind of remembered something.
