Peter plops himself down on the couch, tucked away in the corner of their favourite coffee shop. On the table is a plethora of school supplies, pens and revision cards, as well as half empty hot drinks. They must've been here for quite some time already.

"Peter!"

"Took you long enough, loser. Thought you might've bailed because of your extracurricular activities."

"Don't you mean arac-tivities?" Ned waggles his eyebrows.

Peter rolls his eyes, "No, something really weird happened to me just now. You know my..." he lowers his voice, leaning in closer to the duo, "...spidey sense? How my nape gets all tingly when I sense incoming things?"

"Of course, man. Your Peter Tingle." Ned says seriously.

MJ snorts and Peter groans loudly, earning a confused look from the couple a few tables over. "Dude. You need to stop calling it that. And yeah, it like- I don't know! It malfunctioned or something? I don't know if that's possible, or even how it happened, but it did."

"Oh damn, really?"

"What happened?"

Peter sighs, "I was just walking back from the internship with Mr. Stark. I had my earphones in and I don't really look when I'm walking, because I don't need to. My senses automatically tell me if there's someone in front of me, you know? But I bumped into this random guy. He just came out of no where!"

"Did he give you creepy vibes?" Ned whispers.

"Even worse. I got nothing. I can feel people's vibes on some sort of level, but him? Absolutely nothing. It was like- I don't know, like he didn't exist or something." Peter slumps back, resting his head against the couch.

A brief silence washes over the table. Seeing Peter so tense didn't sit well with MJ and Ned, so they knew this matter wasn't quite a minor one. Even so, they try to comfort him.

"It's never happened before, right? Might just be a fluke," MJ shrugs. "But don't take my word for it."

"I really hope it's a fluke..." Peter mutters nervously. "It's been so long since I've been caught off guard like that."

"Yeah, what MJ said. Have you slept enough? Eaten something bad? Who knows, it might just be a one time thing that happened for an odd reason like that."

Peter nods and hums, distant eyes lost in thought.

"Well. If it happens again, and another time- I think that's when you should worry. Three times isn't a coincidence and all that," MJ makes a gesture with her hands.

After calming the teen down from the event, the conversation steers into lighter territory, the incident already at the back of their minds.

They study together for a while, preparing for upcoming mock quizzes. It was exam season soon, so stress levels were high but at least it meant that the summer holidays were around the corner.

Peter gets up to buy a vanilla latte- decaf of course, since him and caffeine never go well together, until Ned brings up Bucky.

"Oh, you texted us earlier that you met the Winter Soldier?? How did that go?"

Peter's eyes widen, "Yes, oh my god, I met him! Not to sound like... an overly obsessed fanboy, because I don't want to be, but I can't lie," he pauses, voice bordering on a whisper. "His level of physical attractiveness shouldn't be allowed. Like... c'mon."

MJ rolls her eyes with a smirk, "Of course that would be the first thing you'd talk about. His sex appeal. Yeah yeah, Parker, we both know about your crush on the one century year old super soldier. And I'm not talking about the blond one."
