Chapter XIII

Third Person's POV

"So, let me get this straight," Logan said, his fingers interlocked together as he rested his elbows on the dining table," You were W the whole time? Like, since last year?"

Arianna nodded in agreement, but May beat her to it, intertwining their hands as they sat side by side. Logan, looking puzzled, glanced at the two girls, then turned to check the reactions of Elijah, Garrett, Aiden, and Angelina.

"I honestly don't get any of this," Logan leaned back in his chair, made of a beautiful red linen that matched the table, adorned with intricate red, blue, and black abstract patterns.

"What's confusing you?" Arianna asked, her hands still locked on her crossed legs.

"You being W is even more absurd than Angelina promoting a 'Say no to drugs' campaign."

"That's the thing, Logan," Angelina responded. "I've already done one at rehab. It's not absurd anymore."

"So why did you do all those stunts against your family and yourself?" He turned to Arianna, ignoring Angelina.

"I did it to make it seem real. If the 'punisher' of the school didn't target someone specific, who everyone hated and tagged as a tyrant, that person would look even more suspicious." Arianna folded her arms as she explained.

"Did you really have to go as far as ruining your own family portrait?" Logan asked, his expression giving nothing away.

During W's earlier stunts, she defaced the Windsor Family's portrait on the ground floor of the South building. Clown faces were drawn over the faces of the family members. This incident occurred just before the most controversial fliers were distributed all throughout the school. In those fliers, Ms. Chen, the music teacher, was apologising profusely to Arianna for suggesting that she join the choir due to her exceptional voice. That's the reason more and more students in the lower tiers started to agree and support W in her quest to bring down corruption in the wretched system inside the school.

"It was necessary," Aiden's face flushed as he explained, "Before you joined us, I was in charge of the cameras. I had made a mistake once, and the cameras inadvertently captured a glimpse of Arianna's stature. To divert attention and clear Arianna of any suspicion, we orchestrated this stunt to grab the authorities' attention."

Logan scratched his head, questioning Arianna further. "What about all the times you dissed W- yourself, or leave it as you could have done it clear yourself of any suspicions, but your reaction whenever someone mentioned that W would soon catch up to you-your face would turn stoic and cold. It's as if you're ready to kill anyone who utters another word."

Arianna, confused, asked, "When did that happen?" Elijah, sitting across the table, snickered.

"Remember that day when Sloane mocked you? You responded by calling every human being an idiot."

"Oh, that day!" Arianna exclaimed clasping her hands together. Elijah laughed again as he saw her glaring at him with her eyes shooting daggers.

Arianna rubbed her temple and said, "Elijah kept giggling like a crazy hyena and tickling me with his pen that day. I was trying hard not to lose my cool and smack him."
