Third Chapter

As Cami arrives at the Hunter's Association, she is greeted by her fellow hunters. Some chat with her briefly while others focus on their tasks.

"Cami!" Tara calls out as she walks in. "You're just in time. We got a new mission assignment this morning."

Cami nods, already feeling the adrenaline starting to flow through her veins. She knows missions can be dangerous, but she thrives in the heat of the moment.

"Let me guess.." she replies with a slight smirk. "Wanderers causing havoc again."

The hunter gives her a wry grin. "You know it. The higher-ups have identified a particularly aggressive Wanderer causing trouble in the outskirts of the city. We've been tasked with taking it down and neutralizing the threat."

Cami's expression turns serious, the smirk replaced by a determined look. "Alright. Do we have any information on the Wanderer's abilities or location?"

"We have a few reports," Tara replies, leading her towards a holographic map projecting from a nearby table. "But they're not much to go on. We know it has some sort of elemental abilities and it's been spotted in an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of the city."

Cami studied the map, committing the information to memory. "An elemental Wanderer, huh?" she mutters quietly. "Could be challenging."

She turns her attention to her friend. "When do we leave?"

"We're leaving in an hour," the hunter replies. "Make sure you're fully equipped and ready by then. We'll be taking a squad of five hunters, including you, orders from Jenna.

Cami nods, already mentally going over her weapons and equipment. She trusts in her own skills and those of her fellow hunters, but she knows better than to underestimate a Wanderer.

"I'll be ready," she says confidently.

The hunter gives her a final nod and leaves to prepare his own gear. Cami scans the room, noticing the other hunters getting ready, checking their weapons.

She takes a few moments to double check her own belongings, ensuring she has everything she needs for the mission. She slips her favorite knife into its sheath, feeling reassured by its weight against her thigh.

As Cami is getting ready, she overhears a few other hunters talking amongst themselves.

"Heard this one's supposed to be a real tough one," one of them says. "Who knows what kind of abilities it has."

Another hunter pipes in, "Just remember, we've taken down worse. We just have to stay focused and work together."

Cami can't help but agree with them. Working together and staying focused is key during a mission like this.

She takes a deep breath, steeling herself for the battle ahead. She's done this countless times before, she knows the stakes, and she's ready to take on this Wanderer.

The hour passes quickly, and soon enough, the team of hunters gathers near the exit. They all look geared up and ready, their faces a mix of determination and anticipation.

"Alright, team," Jenna appears saying. "Last chance to check your equipment. Once we're out there, there's no turning back."

Cami adjusts her weapons one last time, then looks up at the team leader with a firm nod. "I'm good."

The other hunters chime in as well, confirming that they're ready too. The team leader looks around, satisfied. "Let's move out."

The team of hunters exits the base and makes their way towards the outskirts of the city. The sun is just starting to set, casting long shadows across the deserted streets.
