smile like you mean it

few weeks later

                                Delilah POV 

                        MONDAY        5AM

I worked around the broadcast room setting up the papers for Alastors broadcast. After his papers were set up I walked over to the coffee maker I had bought a few days ago. I hum softly as I started it up. 

"What has you up this early in the morning my dear?" A voice says as the door opens. I turned over and saw Alastor walking in hanging his coat up. "good morning Alastor!" I spoke in a happy tone. "I couldn't sleep so I decided why not to go on to work." I shrugged as I spoke softly. 

"You even have the coffee maker set up!" Alastor says pleased before he sat down in his chair. "Oh." He says in disappointment. "You didn't get donuts this morning?" He asked with a hum.

'Shoot I forgot about donuts!' i looked at Alastor before grabbing my small purse. "Shoot I knew I forgot about something. I'll be right back Al!" I called out as I walked to the door walking out of the building. 

"Good morning Delilah!" Kevin says with a huge grin. "You're here earlier than usual, I just finished getting your dozen donuts packed." He says before bringing up the box. 

"This is why you're my favorite!" I spoke with a grin as I happily took the box from him. "Actually I was wanting to ask you something." He says nervously. 

"Will go on." I said back as I leaned up against the wall. 

"So we both know each other a little over the last few weeks." He says nervously before he continues. "Will I been wondering if maybe I could take you out on a date?" He asked nervously. 

"Oh." I said. I was surprised. I mean of course I'm surprised by this. I really never thought he gained feelings for me.. "I'm sorry Kevin but my eyes and heart are already set on someone." I spoke softly as I pulled out my cash to pay for the donuts.  

"No promises!" I called out laughing. As I walked out of the shop I made my way back to the radio station walking inside. 

"Welcome back!" Meg called out as I walked past her. I smiled and nod as I walked inside the broadcast room with the box of donuts.

"I'm back with donuts Al." I spoke happily as he looked over after he poured himself some coffee. 

"Splined! Just in time." He says happily as he poured sugar and creamer into her coffee before mixing it. After that he walked back over to his chair sitting down. He takes a donut and quickly eats it before taking a sip of his coffee. 

"Good morning!" He yells into the mic as he starts the broadcast. "Morning news starting with the weather. Make sure you enjoy the sunny warm weather we're having today along with clear skies!" He says happily on the mic as he fixes his glasses turning the page. "And for big top news two missing people were found dead in the woods this morning." Alastor says shaking his head. "Isn't this just sad?" He asked into the mic before glancing over at me. 

I looked back at him as I took a sip of my coffee as I watched him continue talking on the mic. After 30 minutes he finished his broadcast playing music for the rest of the time before he turned his attention over at me. 

"So what had you up all night dear?" He asked softly as he took a sip of his coffee.

"Oh nothing really." I spoke softly not wanting to tell him that I was up all night thinking about him.

"Oh." He says before taking a donut taking a bite of it. He then looks at the choices of music humming softly. He then puts a love song on the radio before looking at me making me blush brightly. 

He must have noticed my blushing cause he was blushing lightly right after. He looks away with a small grin before sitting back in his chair resting his legs on his table as he closes his eyes as the song plays through the small speakers as it plays on the radio station as well...
