Mira Patel stood on the observation deck of the Sky Haven, the largest floating city, staring at the dark expanse of space. As the chief astrophysicist of the Global Science Alliance, she had dedicated her life to unraveling the mysteries of the universe. But this Singularity was unlike anything she had ever encountered.
"Dr. Patel," a voice crackled through her earpiece, "we've received the latest data from the Lunar Observatory."
Mira turned away from the panoramic view and walked briskly to the command center. The room buzzed with activity, holographic screens displaying real-time data and simulations. She approached the main console where her colleague, Dr. Elias Rodriguez, was analyzing the incoming information.
"What do we have, Elias?" she asked, her voice tense.
Elias looked up, his face grave. "The Singularity's growth rate is accelerating. At its current speed, it will reach Earth's orbit in 72 hours."
Mira's heart sank. "We need answers. Gather the team. We're running out of time."
