*FLASHBACK*

As I swoop down to duck an attack from the instructor, I swiftly pull down my balaclava to make sure I don't reveal my face. I manage to take a hit, but I wasn't strong enough, yet, to take down the burly man with a stern face. I don't know if he even knows how to change facial expressions.

I sigh, stretching my neck and looking around the dimly lit training center. There were other agents-in-training there too. Their grunts and sounds of rigorous physical training , along with the sound of commands being barked filled the entire space, ringing in my ears.

I clench my hand, feeling my nails digging into my palms. I glare at the floor, recalling painful memories of being betrayed. I huff silently to myself and shake the thought out of my head.

There's nothing I can do about it now. Forget it.

I inhale, breathing the sterile, metallic scent of the training center, and let it out quietly. I throw a few more punches and kicks, dodging here and there, the memories of betrayal filling my head.

"Alright, I guess that's it for the day, Agent 023," my instructor says, tossing a towel at me. I just nod, bowing slightly out of respect.

I roughly wipe the sweat off my body with the towel and gulp down water, but I can't shake the thought out of my head.

You've been doing this for so many years, it's not surprising. Why can't you just let it go?

I mentally slap and curse at myself for not being able to focus on training. I stare at the ceiling, letting the balaclava absorb my sweat.

Specter, also known as Agent 001, was a highly respected figure within the espionage agency, and I admired and trusted him deeply. But he had been working as a double agent for the enemy organization, feeding them crucial information and sabotaging missions from within.

It was when my team of agents, including me, of course, were ambushed due to Specter's leaked information. It was an important mission, where I narrowly made it out alive, but my other teammates had lost their lives.

Agent 001's betrayal left me with deep emotional scars and a hardened demeanor. I became highly cautious and mistrustful after that. Specter's betrayal always reminds me of the potential for deception and danger within our own ranks. I don't trust anyone so easily anymore.
