A heart once full, now broken and worn
Numbness sets in, like a winter that's born
Seven months of waiting, of hope and desire
Left with nothing but ashes, and a heart on fire
My mind and heart at war, a battle to fight
Torn between the love I gave, and the pain of the night
You promised me solace, a love that would last
But like a mirage, it vanished, leaving me aghast
I waited for you, through every rise and fall
Believing your words, through it all
But like a fool, I stood by, and watched it all slip away
Leaving me with just a whisper, of what could've been, each day
My heart, a heavy burden, weighed down with pain
A soul that's searching, for a love that's lost in vain
I'm still deciding, if it's gone, or just asleep
But one thing's certain, my heart will never be the same, it weeps
In this silence, I'm left to face
The shattered pieces of a love that's lost its place
I'll rise from these ashes, like a phoenix born
But for now, I'm left to mourn, the love that we once swore.
