traveling back in time isn't as cool as Charlene Longbottom thought and it sure isn't when one is stuck in the '70s amongst people who could be (and are) your grandparents. But it isn't all bad, especially not when friendships are made and love can be found.
CHARLENE LONGBOTTOM had always wanted to travel back in time, ever since she and her sister, Alice, had watched 'Phil of the future' with their babysitter, who didn't take her job all that seriously.
So really, once she was in Hogwarts, the only thing she could think of was making her dream come true. Perhaps this was the reason for her being sorted into Slytherin, but one could never know what the old hat had in mind when sorting students.
Hearing this one would think Charlene, called Charlie by everyone who knew her even on the most superficial level because she hated her name, to be a wonderful student, a teachers dream even, since she wanted to gain as much knowledge as possible.
In reality Charlie appeared more often than not in her professors' nightmares. After all, she didn't listen in lessons, didn't care about the detentions she got and sure as hell wouldn't oblige the school's rules.
Her head was always buried in a book about time, time travel or time-turners and she used empty classrooms for her experiments, already having blown up two in her first week at Hogwarts. Everyone thought she would give up then, as she exited the smoking room with her hair burned and standing up like that of Albert Einstein, but no.
Charlie wasn't raised to be a quitter and she would try and fail as many times as necessary until she would finally reach her goal and travel back in time. But not just for a few hours. She wanted to walk amongst ancient civilizations, wanted to listen to Mozart perform live and so much more, a few hours wasn't enough for her.
With all her experiments everyone, even her own father, Neville, just waited for the moment in which everything would backfire on her.
And it seemed like this finally happened on a warm October night in her fifth year at Hogwarts in which she travels back in time, with seemingly no possibility to return.
