Boom!

A bright light cracked through the big black sky, the bright glow reflected onto the drops of water falling from the black blanket of clouds. Lightning cracked the dark sky like a large piece of glass snapping in half.

Lower towards the ground, the tops of trees came into view. The shine of the lightning brightened the surroundings, and lower towards the ground was a dark forest. Rabbits and mice made their way through the storm and disappeared into the long grass. Puddles got larger on the muddy surface.

Suddenly a four legged creature stomped into one of the muddy puddles, the rain water splashing all around. The creature cantered along the muddy path, her pure white paws glowing in the bright flashes. She had a yellow streak down her back from between the ears till halfway down the tail. The creature puffed while holding a rabbit carcass in her mouth, the upper jaw's teeth sunken deep into the carcass's neck. Her bright yellow eyes shone as the flashes continued to flash.

The creature made her way into the long grass. She slowed down into a forward walk as she got closer to an ancient tree with a narrow hole big enough for the creature to squeeze through. Once she did, she dropped the carcass onto the ground and laid down to rest, and waited.

The first tiny fur ball of cuteness stumbled towards his mother to be the first one to start eating. Then three others hurried towards the smell of the raw carcass waiting to be eaten, stumbling over the first. The poor thing sneezed and shook the dirt from his nose and fur, while the other three pups were already snapping at the carcass greedily.

The pup didn't hesitate. He carried on skurrying towards the carcass for his share. When he finally was able to reach the food, he did what everyone else did.

He had black fur with a dark blue stripe down his face. His blue, yellow and green bright mix-coloured eyes shone excitedly.

The she-wolf looked at her pups with a smile. She could sense and see the strength in each and every one of the pups, yet only one satisfied her.

Storm, the black cub with the dark blue stripe down his face.

Ever since he was first born, he never made a sound (besides a growl or bark) no matter how much pain he was in. Not even a wince. His older brothers always picked on him due to his size and unique eyes. But he always got back on his feet and continued to mind his own business. Sometimes he would growl or nip if he had enough of his brothers' mocking or bickering.

The she-wolf licked each pup clean while they chomped at the flesh. The biggest and fattest growled faintly thinking the she-wolf was going to pick him up, away from his feast. The she-wolf watched her pups once more, smiling again at them. One day, you all will be able to venture the world. And maybe, one of you will grow up to become an alpha, or even a guardian. She thought.
