Chapter 1: Prom Night
“Diana Anderson would you hurry up already I am tired of sitting here” I muttered angrily using her full name. I have been sitting for over two hours whilst my so called best friend is trying to turn me into one of those fake Barbie look a likes. It wasn’t like I couldn’t do my own make-up but according to Dee I always ended up resembling a nun. Great friend I have, I know.
“Would you sit still, for god sakes Rosie stop being so difficult, do you want to look nice at this prom or not?” Dee gave me a glare.
I looked down and muttered a quiet “Yeah”.
After ten more torturous minutes of Dee pulling at my hair and applying numerous shades of foundation to my face I was finally ready. I stood up and looked at myself in the mirror and gasped, looking back at me was a beautiful girl her brown hair flowing nicely in curls over her shoulders, her brown eyes looked back at me with admiration, the beautiful red ankle dress she had on flowed nicely over her slim body showing off her curves and hugged each part of her body perfectly.
I turned and saw Dee giving me a smug look; her short blonde hair was left out in a wavy style and fell nicely to her shoulders, her blue eyes shown with mischief as she looked at me.
“Come on you can thank me later we’re running late let’s get going now” she said whilst walking out the door, her pink dress flowing nicely behind her. I quickly rushed after her.
We got into our taxi and all of a sudden I started to feel anxious, this was my first prom, we finished our first year of college and as a treat my college- Beverly Hill High, which is an only girl's college decided to keep a prom, don't get me wrong I was all for the idea but unfortunately they decided to join our next year of college and prom with our neighbouring college Michigan Capital High which just so happens to be an only boy's college.
All the girls are over the moon with the idea except for me of course. You see this college consists of mostly bad boys that are always looking for trouble and I know this because my older brother Mason goes to Michigan too, I have met his crew of friends and they are all the same - arrogant jerks. So yes don't blame me when I say I am not looking forward to tonight. And to top it off Michigan High is also known to have gang members and no I don't mean horrid Henry’s gang that play the purple hand gang NO I mean real gangs that are involved in all sorts of dangerous acts.
“Rosie... heloooo anyone in there” Dee waved her hand in front of my face, bringing me out of my thoughts and back to reality.
“Huh” I muttered only now realising that our taxi had come to a stop.
“Oh come on Rosie we’re here! Lets go” Dee said grabbing my hand whilst pulling the door open with her other hand.
I got out after Dee and felt the cold air hit my exposed skin leaving me with goose bumps; I rushed to keep up with her. Only now looking around, I realised that our school had actually done a pretty good job with the red carpet entrance making me feel like a celebrity.
As we walked towards the entrance we heard wolf whistles coming from our right where a group of boys were seated smoking. We continued our walk ignoring the boys as best as we could.
Once we entered the hall my jaw dropped, the hall that was also known as our ‘gym’ the sweaty stinky place was now turned into a fabulous prom hall with all the decoration and lightening. It was filled with groups of girls giggling and flirting with the groups of boys. I sighed shaking my head at them before following Dee further in to the hall.
