Chapter 4: The Bet
I lay on my bed bored to hell on a Saturday evening, pitiful I know. I mean a teenager at home on a Saturday evening- but what can I say I am sad like that.
As I lay there my thoughts drifted off to this morning when I walked home with Drake and couldn't help the goofy grin that took over my face. He had questioned me about the jelly in his shoes, and I had just looked up at him sheepishly before replying “God decided to punish you?” making it sound more like a question.
What can I say I am bad at lying and of course Drake didn't fall for it. “Oh so God thought the best punishment was to place jelly in my shoes?” he had questioned with a raised eye brow.
Being the idiot I was I had just run of screaming knowing I had lost, whilst Drake tried to catch me. I hadn't even reached the end of the road before he managed to catch me. I was very brutally thrown on the grass and tickled endlessly until I finally managed to gasp out ‘sorry’.
We had then spent the whole afternoon goofing about.
I couldn't help the goofy smile from forming on my face as I thought about our afternoon together.
I shook my head to clear my thoughts before picking up my phone and deciding to call my best friend Dee, knowing I was in a desperate need of a distraction.
“Sup?” she questioned. I shook my head God how I missed her!
“Sup my ass” I replied and I heard shuffling before she was back on line.
“Rosie Posieeee!!!” she screamed, “So you finally decided to call me?” she asked and I could just imagine her raising her perfectly plucked eyebrow at me.
“Yep, I am bored, wanna go out?” I asked her.
“Sure! Be there in thirty” she said before hanging up.
I got up and decided to get ready, I put on one of my favorite black, one sleeved dress which reached to my mid thigh and covered me up quite nicely I paired it with my black high heels. I let my hair out and decided to curl it and finished off with some mascara and lip gloss. I gave myself a once over in the mirror and smiled approvingly.
I grabbed some money and my house keys seeing as no one was at home, my parents were away to a business trip and wouldn't be back next month, and Mason is probably out with his mates.
I quickly shut the door and walked out just in time to see Dee sitting in her red convertible Ferrari, yes a Ferrari her parents had given it to her on her sweet 16, and since then it had become her life. She sat there grinning at me as I opened the door and gave her a quick hug.
“So where to?” I asked as she drove out my driveway.
“Well there’s an awesome party at Nate’s” she said grinning.
I recognized the name right away, all the girls had been going on about him and Drake at prom, he was Drake’s best mate; they were inseparable, just like me and Dee.
It then occurred to me that if we were going to Nate’s party then surely Drake would be there too and for some unknown reason that didn't sound too bad to me.
“Why are you smiling?” Dee questioned with a raised eyebrow.
“No reason” I replied just as we came to a stop outside a huge mansion also known as Nate’s house. He was extremely rich; his parents were lawyers which meant they earned a lot, definitely enough to spoil their only child.
