"Dude, did Snowbelle forget that we're all going out to eat at Fortune Teller?" Volt glared at the Glaceon's door.
"Or maybe she was invested in a book and fell asleep last minute?" Willow narrowed her eyes.
"Who's gonna go wake her up?" Bonfire questioned.
"I could!" Melody volunteered.
"Uh, I could help?" Lavender also stepped up with a shrug.
"I'll also go." the Leafeon rolled her eyes at Volt. "C'mon."
Melody reached to Snowbelle's door and knocked on it with a ribbon. "Hey Snowbelle! You awake in there?"
Absolutely zero response. Lavender knocked on the door again and didn't say anything to go along with it. Still nothing. Willow knocked louder, but Snowbelle still didn't reply.
"Y'all gonna barge in, or...?" Volt glanced at Lavender.
"Guess we kinda have to," Melody groaned. "I only do this with Dew, so I feel very uncomfortable."
"Is that calling me special in a good way or in a bad way?" the Vaporeon narrowed her eyes.
"Up to you!..." Melody used the same ribbon and carefully twisted the knob. Surprisingly, it was unlocked, and the door slowly creaked open by itself.
Lavender blinked in confusion. "Do we just-"
"Uh-huh." Willow nodded and carefully trotted into the room. "Oh. I was right."
"Binging a book series?" the Sylveon asked.
"Just a book. I know that novel's just by itself." Willow shook her head. "She always makes up theories and even tried getting me to come up with a few."
"Oh, cool." Lavender said simply. "So, how are we gonna wake her up?"
"We can just...shake her awake." Willow came up with an idea right on the spot. "C'mon!"
The three started shaking the Glaceon, who instantly jolted up and cried out in fear.
"Hey, it's fine!" Willow covered her sister's mouth with a paw. "Shush!"
"Mmmph!" Snowbelle choked on her muffled screaming.
"Uhh, Willow, are you sure you're not suffocating her there?" Melody pointed to the Glaceon with her ribbon.
"Yeah, she'll be fine." Willow nodded, but didn't seem too sure herself.
"Are you gonna...let go?" Lavender asked.
"MMPH!"
Willow sighed and removed her paw, Snowbelle beginning to cough loudly for a whole minute straight.
"Yeah, I don't think she's fine." Melody remarked while holding back a laugh. "Is she, Lav?"
"Oh, c'mon!" Willow groaned and turned to Lavender.
The Espeon shrugged and nodded to agree with Melody. They both started laughing while Willow's face went red with embarrassment."Hey, you guys!" Guinevere greeted the group the moment she saw them trot in the door. "Seeing our new Lunch Specials' Program?"
"Mhm!" Melody nodded energetically.
"What about the place across from here?" Guinevere glanced at her notebook and led them to a table while asking.
"Full Moon?" Lavender blinked in confusion.
"No, that's the one that's technically next to us." Guinevere shook her head. "It's not opened, but I went over to it and it has such a pretty interior design! I think you lot would like it...but don't stop coming here, y'know?"
Willow glanced the others. "I'm sorry, what's it called?"
The group already knew what Guinevere meant, but planned to keep it a secret.
"I think it's a Café of some sort. I forgot the full name but I think there's just a word before it." the Gardevoir didn't notice the awkwardness and backed up to let the group sit down. "Anyways, our Lunch Special of the day..."
Snowbelle zoned out while Guinevere told the rest about the specific lunch special of the day, until a few words brought her back.
"Oh, yeah! Since you guys are early, you get a chance at Madame Tyche's fortune telling! Like, an actual-"
"When?"
"Huh?" Guinevere blinked.
"Sorry, but uh...when's the fortune telling?" Snowbelle's face went into a light shade of red from embarrassment.
Willow's eyes widened in some surprise. "Sis, why do you need a fortune t-"
"Anytime! It's free, and-"
In the blink of an eye, Snowbelle was up from her seat and half-dashing to the front desk.
"What the..." Volt muttered, confused on why the Glaceon just suddenly left.
"Is she gonna listen or-?" Guinevere asked politely.
"She did. So, uh...can I just get..." Willow started ordering some random things that she remembered from the waitress' rambling.
The others also started to order, and soon Guinevere left to put the order in."Right on time, Snowbelle."
Snowbelle stopped in her tracks when she turned the corner and heard Madame Tyche's relaxed voice.
"You already predicted that I was gonna come over?" The Glaceon was surprised.
"Eh, just chose to predict something for fun after your group went in. I'd already half-expected that you'd come over in an instant once Gui told you about the free fortune telling." Madame Tyche simply shrugged.
"You know me too well." Snowbelle smiled. "So, can you see approximately everything into the future?"
"Not everything, it comes more like a definite vague summary and a few really quick images that usually won't matter. Can't see them anymore, I'm too old for that now." Madame Tyche explained. "Summary does stay until I want it to go away though. That's in control."
"Well...um...I know this is 'fortune telling', but I was wondering if you could see into the past." The Glaceon asked after processing everything.
"Memories?" Madame Tyche narrowed her eyes.
"Well no...things that you can't remember. Memories that are lost, and you can't find them yourself, so you need-"
"-An external reminder that reminds you to remember?"
"Did you also see that? From your prediction?" Snowbelle frowned.
"No, everyone just eventually becomes predictable for me. Their words, how they think..." Madame Tyche admitted. "Anyways, dear, how far do you want to see into the future? Two year's the limit."
"What if I asked you to keep looking in, month by month until I can make a full analysis of whatever's going to happen to me?" The Glaceon's eyes brightened.
"I don't think I have enough power for that. Eventually I'd run out completely at some point. Each future looked into shortens my own. Literally." Aunt Tyche shook her head and sighed. "If I wasn't so old, I'd be opening a special company to help Mons with plans for their future, not opening a restaurant."
"Madame..." Snowbelle felt a pang of pity for the Gardevoir.
"Anyways, I need to stop rambling on and on about something that'll never even be fulfilled. There's nothing I can do anyways. I know you don't want to listen to me rant for the entire time, so let's do this. First month?"
The farther in, the more vague the message will be. The closer in, the more predictable it is without needing a prediction.
"Four months' summary, please." The Glaceon decided, and Madame Tyche closed her eyes.
The Gardevoir lifted her arms and moved them in circular motions, decently close to her face. Some pinkish-purple mist was conjured and Madame Tyche kept rotating, treating the mist as a floating ball. It reshaped and did become a ball as she kept rotating, while Snowbelle noted every little detail in her expression and her movements. Madame Tyche slowly brought the ball closer to her face, and she blew it gently while mouthing the number 122.
The mist started increasing in size, and Snowbelle could somehow see her own reflection on it. When the ball was as big as Madame Tyche's head, the Gardevoir stopped rotating and held it up before tossing it right into her face. The mist disappeared completely the moment it went into contact, and Snowbelle could only stare with confusion. Madame Tyche's expression was tense in a way that made the Glaceon have a bad feeling about this. Suddenly, the Gardevoir's eyes opened and her eyes sparkled with urgency and panic.
"Madame-"
"Whatever you do, you must protect the little one. The four months showed me way more in time that I unfortunately cannot disclose, but you must protect her no matter what. And during the process, you'll find pieces of yourself that I'm sure you would hate, but please remember that they are still parts of you once you get them."
"Cinnamon?" Snowbelle felt shivers in her body after hearing Madame Tyche. "What parts?"
Madame Tyche got up and left into the backroom without saying another word to the Glaceon, leaving her without any other answers. Guinevere saw when passing by and came over.
"Hey, everything alright?" The waitress asked with worry.
"Is Madame Tyche alright?" Even Snowbelle's voice trembled along with her. "Please. It's my fault."
"No, don't worry, if anything, it's fate and destiny's fault. Not yours. Willow ordered a lot of food, so I think some are for you. C'mon."
"Will Madame Tyche be alright?" Snowbelle nodded and followed Guinevere back to the table.
"Hopefully," Guinevere sighed. "Well, I'll go check on her. See you!"
"Belle! How was it?" Willow turned after hearing her sister's familiar voice.
"It was fine," Snowbelle tried hiding all of the fear she had. "It's fine."
"C'mon, have some food!" Nobody seemed to notice, and Snowbelle was glad.
While she scarfed down food, Snowbelle was analyzing what Madame Tyche's own words were.
What could've been so bad that even an experienced prophet was scared? And why didn't she say anything about the message?
Why is she hiding something from me anyways?
