Y/N remained curled up on the couch, her body still trembling from the encounter. Jungkook stayed by her side, his presence a comfort, but her mind was a whirlwind of fear and uncertainty. She didn't feel safe in her own home anymore, convinced that she had been followed for days.
Y/N: "Jungkook"
Her voice trembling.
Y/N: "The reason I didn't answer your messages... it wasn't because I doubted you. This situation made me realize how hard it will be if the news of our relationship comes out. I'm scared. I wanted to understand if we should bring this relationship forward."
Jungkook's eyes softened, and he reached out to take her hand, squeezing it gently.
Jungkook: "Y/N, I understand. But we're in this together, remember?"
She shook her head, tears spilling down her cheeks.
Y/N: "I took a walk to clear my mind, and that's when I met that man. He grabbed me and asked if I was your girlfriend. I don't think it's safe for me to stay here anymore. I'm going to move to my parents' place in Busan. For now, it's best to keep some distance between us until things settle."
Jungkook's heart sank.
Jungkook: "No, Y/N, please. We can figure this out together. Don't leave like this."
Y/N looked into his eyes, her heart aching with every word she was about to say.
Y/N: "If our relationship is meant to be, we'll meet again. Fate will bring us together. But right now, I need to go. I need to be safe."
Her words tore at her own heart, and she could see the pain reflected in Jungkook's eyes. He reached out to hold her, but she gently pushed him away, standing up to start packing her things.
Jungkook: "Y/N, please, let me help you. I'll find a way to make this work."
Jungkook pleaded, his voice breaking.
With a heavy heart, Y/N turned to face him, trying to muster the strength to be firm. "No, Jungkook. It's over for now. Please, just leave."
Jungkook stood frozen, unable to move. The room was filled with a suffocating silence. Then, the dam broke.
Y/N: "Leave!"
Y/N screamed, her voice echoing through the apartment.
Y/N: "It's your fault I'm in this situation now!"
As soon as the words left her mouth, she regretted them. Jungkook's face fell, the hurt in his eyes almost unbearable to witness. He stepped back, his shoulders slumping.
Jungkook: "I'm sorry..."
He whispered, his voice barely audible.
Jungkook: "I'll arrange for your departure to Busan, to make sure you're not followed. I never wanted to put you in danger. I... I'll never try to reach you unless you wish for it."
The finality of his words hit Y/N like a punch to the gut. She watched him leave, the door closing behind him with a soft click. The silence that followed was deafening, and she sank to the floor, sobbing uncontrollably.
Y/N felt like she was dying inside, her heart shattered into a million pieces. She had pushed away the one person who meant everything to her, all in the name of safety. But as she sat there, alone in the dark, she couldn't shake the feeling that a part of her was missing. The weight of her decision settled heavily on her chest, making it hard to breathe.
Jungkook, on the other hand, walked away from her apartment with a heavy heart. He blamed himself for putting Y/N in this dangerous situation. Every step felt like a mile, and the pain of leaving her behind was almost too much to bear.
As he arranged for her safe departure, Jungkook's mind raced with thoughts of their time together, the moments of joy and love they had shared. He vowed to himself that he would find a way to be with her again, no matter what it took. But for now, he had to let her go, hoping that fate would be kind and bring them back together when the time was right.
