"Scarlett!" I waved enthusiastically when I spotted the familiar brunette across the bustling street.
"Elaina! How are you?" Her face lit up with a bright smile as she hurried over, pulling me into a warm embrace.
"Great! I need to put together an outfit for the next round of BSB." I grinned, linking arms with her as we began walking. "Since you're in town for fittings, I thought I could get your input."
"I'd love to help." She giggled, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
We meandered through a series of quaint shops, each brimming with local trinkets and unique finds. Scarlett was particularly taken with a small, handcrafted jewelry store, where she picked up a few delicate pieces. The vibrant energy of the town was infectious, and we soon found ourselves laughing and chatting like no time had passed since our last meeting.
After a delightful afternoon of shopping, we finally made our way back to my house. The sun was beginning to set, casting a golden hue over everything.
"Alright, go and change into this." Scarlett tossed me a white dress as soon as we stepped inside.
"Prototype?" I asked, feeling the light, airy fabric between my fingers. It didn't have the polished look of a finished piece.
"Yup. I didn't know what type of pet you were going to adopt," Scarlett called over her shoulder, rummaging through my closet with the determination of someone on a mission. I watched her for a moment before slipping into the bathroom to change.
The dress was perfect—light and flowy, ideal for dancing and quick movements. I couldn't help but smile as I spun around a few times in front of the bathroom mirror, watching the fabric swirl gracefully around me.
"It fits like a glove, Scarlett!" I giggled, stepping out to show her.
"Of course it does, I made it." Scarlett grinned proudly as she looked at me over. "Could you turn your back to me?"
I did as she asked, pulling my hair to the front. The room fell silent except for the soft rustle of fabric as she adjusted the dress. After a few minutes, she turned me back around.
"Alright, you can go and change into this..." She handed me another outfit.
"Thanks, Scar." I smiled, dashing off to the bathroom once more to change.
It took a while, and by the end of it, my closet looked like a tornado had hit it, but Scarlett finally settled on the perfect outfit.
"Ah, thank you." I squealed happily, hugging her tightly.
"No problem." Scarlett smiled, returning the hug. "Just make sure to win, okay?"
"Of course." I grinned confidently. "How long are you planning to stay in Japan? I'd love for you to come and watch my battle."
Scarlett's eyes sparkled with excitement. "I'll be there."
The rest of the evening flew by in a whirlwind of laughter and reminiscing. Scarlett decided to stay at my house, and we had a sleepover for the first time in ages. Despite her jet lag and my need to rest for the big event tomorrow, we still had a blast. We stayed up late into the night, talking and catching up, until we finally fell asleep, exhausted but happy.
The next morning, we woke up bright and early. The air was crisp and fresh, and the streets were still quiet as we set out for a morning walk. Japan was always so beautiful in the early hours, and we decided to stop by Aoi Bakery for some freshly baked goods. With pastries in hand, we made our way to the beach to watch the sunrise.
"Mm, this is delicious." Scarlett sighed contentedly as she took a bite of her pastry.
I giggled, feeling a sense of peace wash over me. After a few moments, I stood up and stretched. "Wanna come with me to watch Shu's match today?"
