Abhishek kissed her forehead before he looked down between the two of them, expression turning painfully soft, "Don't think I forgot about you, bacha," he murmured, eyes brimming with fondness as his warm hand came to rest atop her baby bump, "papa missed you too, lots and lots,”

Manisha knew Abhishek was one second away from drowning in his guilt and harping on about how he should have been there for the past month and should have never left her by herself,
so she stopped him before he could even start, “Hey, we're not doing this again. Both
Baby and I have been fine, so go freshen up and get changed so we can eat…I was
waiting for you and I’m starving,”

He frowned, eyebrows knitting together in concern, “You shouldn’t have waited...you should make sure you eat on time and –"

She rolled her eyes, “I’ve not had dinner with my husband for a month, cut me some slack,” She said before pushing him towards the staircase.

Abhishek POV

To celebrate Manisha's birthdays, Abhishek had flown her to Paris for a (very)
romantic getaway. On the seventh day of the trip – one day before her birthday – she has been feeling a little strange, not quite like her usual self, but she couldn’t tell what was up with her. When she thought about it a little more, it suddenly struck her that she had missed her period three weeks ago.

How could she have even forgotten about that? With a trembling heart and a mind racing with a million different thoughts, she hurriedly snuck out of her suite to go downstairs to the pharmacy in the hotel lobby while Abhishek was in the shower and bought a couple of pregnancy tests.

She hid them in her pocket and smuggled them into the bathroom later that evening, where she learned that her gut feeling hadn’t been wrong. Two lines. Both of the tests were positive.
She was pregnant. She was carrying a child. She was going to be a mother. Abhishek was going to be a father. They were both going to be parents. They were both going to have a family together.

The most difficult thing in her life had been coming out of that bathroom and acting like
nothing at all had happened. Like every cell in her body wasn’t vibrating, literally shaking, with love and happiness; like her life hadn’t completely changed within ten minutes. Manisha and abhishek weren’t trying for children, but it wasn’t really something that she was avoiding either. She  never really discussed it in detail and she knew kids were in the picture
for the future…but she never imagined it this early, when both of them were still so young. Honestly, she wasn’t sure how Abhishek would feel about a child not even two whole years into her marriage. She wasn’t sure how she would have felt about it either before, but now that she knew it was actually happening, it felt nothing short of a dream that she didn’t even
know she had coming true.

They were having dinner under the stars on a private rooftop the next evening for her
birthday, the Eiffel tower glowing on her side and the most breath-taking view all around her. She hadn't touched the red wine, but she wasn't the biggest fan of it anyway so Abhishek hadn't thought much of it.

The servers had just taken the dessert dishes away from the table, meaning that it was finally time. She felt like she was going to throw up; from pregnancy-related sickness or nerves, she wasn’t too sure.

Mani:-“I know it’s my birthday…but I have a gift for you,” you said shyly, handing ,, Abhishek a box wrapped in glittery paper with a bow on top.

He looked up at her in surprise, taking the box from her as his lips stretched into a smile,

Abhi:-“You already gave me my gift last week,” Her cheeks had grown unbearably hot and she felt a little lightheaded as she watched him unwrap the box, struggling to hear anything else past the sound of her own thundering heartbeat, “Well…I have another one,”
When Abhishek opened the lid of the box, he looked at what was inside for a few seconds before his head whipped up to look at her, eyes wide in shock.
