Chapter 2: New Pathway
"How could Isobel do such a thing?"
Auntie Carina comforts me as I cry my eyes out. It's been hours. Buti nalang napigilan ko pang magwala sa harapan kanina nina Myrinna at Magnus matapos kong marinig ang anunsyo nila, I even blacked out as soon as I closed the door for their leave.
For Pete's sake, Isobel, why?
Auntie Carina sighed, "Maybe Lady Isobel wants to open the door of opportunities for you, Lady Isolde, getting to study at Lucullan Academy isn't that unfortunate, but rather a blessing in spite of your condition."
"Tapos anong gagawin ko doon? N-Nganga? Alam niyo namang hindi maganda ang magiging trato sa'kin doon po eh, b-baka i-bully lang ako dahil isa akong tao sa mundong ito at hindi tulad nila." Gatong ko habang humihikbi.
"Don't think so much of the negativities here, Lady Isolde. Who knows? baka mas mabait ang mga tao doon kompara dito sa labas, after all, Lucullan Academy produces students through education in its finest, the students there could never do such a thing."
Tama nga din naman ang punto ni Auntie Carina, maybe I did overreacted even though the things inside the walls of the Academy might be unpredictable too, maybe there's also a reason kung bakit halos mukhang ibang mundo ang presensya ng Academy kahit dito pa din naman ito sa Celestium.
I took deep breaths, "Thanks, Auntie Carina, I'll think about this, pambihira lang din naman makapasok sa loob ng Academy ang mga tao dito eh." Mahinahon kong saad, trying to make myself at ease.
She then hold my hand and smiled at me, "Yes, Lady Isolde, you are much luckier than you think."
A few days then passed until the week is over, malalim pa din ang iniisip ko, sa tingin ko pa nga ay hindi pa sapat ang isang linggo para makapag-isip ako nang maayos, this is too much for me to take!
I have no powers, I even look so dull and naive whenever being compared by random people my age, I've always felt undeserving of the good things coming my way.
Ngunit sa isang pikit ng aking mga mata ay nakaayos na lahat ang aking mga gamit, tila walang karapatan makaatras dahil sa oportunidad na ito.
Wow, so much of thinking wether to go or not.
I feel so hopeless right now, but it's okay, I'll try my best to not be a burden from the Academy.
Nakangiting binati ako muli ng magkapatid nang dumating na ang oras sa aking pagsundo, it's now 8 am, at sakto din ang kanilang pagdating. Just like Isobel, I didn't brought much stuffs with me, just my essentials.
"We'll make sure you did the right choice, Lady Isolde Emberlynn." Myrinna chuckled as she tries to calm me and my trembling hands.
"I really hope so too." I smiled nervously.
Nang kompleto na kaming nakasakay sa karwahe ay tsaka na ding nagsimulang maglakad ang mga kabayo. Magnus sat in front of us, beside the horse maneuver, outside the carriage. Myrinna told me that Magnus really loves the fresh air whenever they go out on a ride while fetching the new students from the Academy. I heard that Myrinna and Magnus and their other two friends in the highly praised circle at the Academy were in-charge in these tasks.
Nang muli akong sumulyap sa bintana ng karwahe ay muli akong kumaway bilang paalam kay Auntie Carina at sa mga iba pa naming mga kasambahay na lahat ay nasa labas. They all bowed at me in respect, hindi alintana ang mga luhang namumuo sa aking mga mata.
I feel so emotional right now, I feel sad for leaving the place. Life is indeed full of surprises that it scares me, never knowing on how to prepare when the time comes.
