"As we all know, Aura only has one single to their name. We can't have that be. You need more than one song to perform, especially at award shows—"

Yunchae stared absentmindedly at Mijoo, who was passionately ranting. The director, however, looked unimpressed, his eyes narrowing as Mijoo's speech continued. Yunchae's thoughts drifted, hoping that this meeting wouldn't result in another release. SMCU had drained their energy, and she could practically see the exhaustion etched on her members' faces.

"Ok, let's cut to the chase. We need a new single out," the director said abruptly, interrupting Mijoo mid-sentence.

"What!?" Xia exclaimed, nearly choking on her water in surprise.

"Were you not listening? Did you not hear Mijoo hinting at that?" Seoyeon asked, her voice tinged with disbelief, but no one waited for an answer.

"No, I stopped listening an hour ago after I realised this whole meeting was pointless," Xia muttered under her breath, her words only audible to Chiyo and Yunchae.

"Are you sure? We only debuted at the start of this month," Kyohee questioned as she didn't want her members to overwork themselves.

"Of course I am. RIIZE is releasing a new single in October. I'm being lenient enough to let us release it near the start of November," the director stated, his tone sharp and final.

For some reason, this felt like a parent comparing them to the golden child cousin. The comparison stung, and Yunchae could feel the collective frustration simmering.

"But—" Kyohee started, but was promptly cut off.

This director seriously had to let people finish talking because cutting them off is plain rude.

"No buts. Did you think the idol life was all about sitting around?" The director glared at everyone, his eyes daring them to speak up. The room fell silent, the tension thick in the air.

"Well, I think we are done here, which is good because I have better places to be," the director concluded, standing up abruptly. His tone left no room for further discussion so the members let him walk out.

"Sorry about him. He always acts like he has a stick up his butt. Anyway, besides the point. Will you guys be okay with having the demo listen tomorrow morning?" Mijoo asked, her tone softening.

"Yeah, that should be fine. Thanks, Mijoo," Kyohee replied, her words followed by a collective sigh of relief from the group.

"No problem, girls. Go rest while you can now," Mijoo encouraged, offering a supportive smile.

"Thanks, Mijoo," Yunchae said, echoing the sentiment of her members.

"No problem at all," Mijoo responded, her voice filled with genuine care.

There was a chorus of 'thanks' as the girls gathered their things, the room gradually emptying out.

"Chenle texted me. I'm meeting him in the cafeteria. Anyone want to come or want something?" Xia asked, looking up from her phone.
